The game is too difficult.
I don´t know if difficult is the right word since I have no problem with killing orcs, the problem always arrives when multiple captains show off to "help" the one target I am trying to dominate.

The last 4 tries I have had to abandon due to either bloodbrothers or other captains unexpectedely showing up. This adds a bunch of other orc fodder which you have to deal with since domination takes a few seconds and you will get interrupted with other orcs around.

Furthermore I am extremely limited to my choice of targets if domination is the goal, all but 3 captains are above my level and 1 has already died to a drake that showed up out of nowhere (he died of friendly fire).

After some 6 hours of very persistant play I got two dominated and they were both a pain to get, since I was dominating them while being hit by random appearing orcs.

I did start a new game on easy and have reached about the same length as the first game, I can´t really tell any difference, combat seems to be equal and so does the number of orcs. You still die from two captain hits, so getting hit is not an option. Actually "easy" is proving to be more difficult than my normal run.

I could have had a much easier time I believe if I had more captains available to chose from but I seem to be "level locked" currently and feel no motivation to hunt orc captains of a higher level.

Any hints on how to avoid multiple captains showing up with all of their followers and strategies on how to isolate your target are welcome.

I have had up to 5 captains and a army of soldiers at once..This game gets a bit stupid at times. havent found any way to avoid it so far.

Strategic retreat and pick a better battle. I still struggle with the concept that you just can't win every fight, my inner rambo ninja dumbass always kicks in - 6 captains, 20 mad uruks, nemesis difficulty, call ins on cooldown, outta arrows, one bitty smidge of health left - do I run? Nah, I got this!

Yeah but dying is actually a crucial part of the game for messing with nemesis and buffing orcs.

For more practical advice, when you are outnumbered like that, find a high spot like a tower platform and get up there, shrink the battlefield so you don't get surrounded and control the fight. A platform they can't climb is ideal and use shadow pull to yank em up one at a time for one on one beatdowns.. You can switch skills mid battle too for swapping out between dominate and arrow refills for example.

Protip: You're not supposed to win battles against 200 Captains at once. You're supposed to retreat, or stealth them.

I prefer the game to have harder battles like this rather than just allow the player to Assassin's Creed murder their way through everything constantly.

Also, glaive is your friend! I just love using a threshing sword with multi-charge glaive for splash damage madness, try different gear, don't forget some cool features are on epic gear - don't get fixated on legendary sets exclusively, become a student of the game! It's a blast...

Finish the story mode first to gain xp and character abilities. Collect gems to make the most powerful green and red for your gear. Use the stealth button almost continually during battles. Always check the orcs traits, you may be able to make one flee with flies or other easy attacks. The most useful traits include shadow pull, shadow strike, and charged shots.

Divide and conquer.
Like others said, there is no shame in running, and all is fair in love and shadow of war.

Engage your ennemies on your terms, and never on their. While trying to dominate a captain during a fight is a long action which can be interrupted, remember that stealth dominate is instant. So are the skill shadow dominate and the consume "execution" move. Remember also that brutalise kills and some others skills will scare away ennemies nearby. You don't need to kill everyone when you can make them flee. Use the environnement. Fireplaces, grog barrels, cages, baits, fly hives... All are good to cause damage and distraction. If nothing is avaible, hide and wait. Captains will spread up at some point allowing you to pounce on one in particular and dominate him. And you may be able to pin others with arrows to buy you some time.

If you really can't do anything else, hit and run tactics are fine. Stealth attacking one captain, then running to hide, only to come back and do it again. When you are running away, if you find some isolated orcs not triggered yet, dominate them. If things turn poorly, they will create a distraction by fighting the others. Archers in high places in particular, are useful for providing some amount of support by firing on your pursuers. Not only that, but draining allows you to heal, so you kill two birds with one stone.

Don't forget the underrated lure command, and don't forget you can also use it while aiming with the bow to create a noise source that will make orcs investigate. You can make a captain move just under the fly hive he's terrified of, and drop it right on his head, which will cause him to immediatly become broken and run away.

It's especially good when you can have the killer lure skill which makes your wraith kill any orc when he gets close to your lure.

I must agree the game is actually too easy even on nemesis difficulty
They are adding a new difficulty called gravewalker hopefully that does add some difficulty

But as for constructive critizism, play some story missions so you can level up, get the shadow stike skill with the ground dominate skill, that way you can quickly dominate uruks. When you can get the shadow dominate skill.
also equip some health or attack runes to your armour that you either have more health or deal more damage.

The thing with this game is that some fights aren't meant to fought brute force, even though most people just want to do that. If you really want to brute force everything, you shouldn't play on Nemesis difficulty. It actually gets rather easy if you know your way around the game mechanics.(One of the prime examples is taking Shadow Strike to your advantage to escape or reset visibility)

I mostly have problem with either too many spear mobs or the fov is too close so I can't see what's happening.

I love those encounters, recruit 4 or 5 at once and head to the fighting pits.
