The first captain should be a Dark Olog. Not your Nemesis.

Hey W@ldi, what you mean with a new game. Restart the mission or all the game? I mean... did I screwed the game because of a past action or what?

Hello warriors!

I'm very happy because I fixed it. The problem is that this mission is about to defeat Talion's nemesis and I killed every thing that I found in the game (the orcs that killed me in the past also), so, I didn't had a nemesis.

To have a nemesis you just have go anywhere in the map and let the orcs kill you. Once that the orc that killed you be degree, go and try "The Arena" mission (don't jump the intro, just in case). And that's it.

If it works you will notice that the Orc that you used to fight at the begining (the one that have only one eye) will be the 4th champ to kill.

None of these solutions worked for me. I was at level 24 and that fire guy who is the first captain in the Arena is supposed to be the Nemesis. I started the game over again. Ran through all the missions and avoided collectibles to The Arena and I was still Level 9 by then. The Arena then worked. Hope another bug like this doesn't happen

Had the same issue. Tried again after wandering out and getting deliberately killed so producing a vendetta mission, and had no problems. Seems you need to have a vendetta/nemesis for the mission to work. What a dumb bug.

The Arena Mission is broken, no Champion ever appears:

If you are stuck on the Mission in the Arena in Minas Morgul and a champion or your Nemesis isn’t showing up, this is likely because you are higher level than the intended for this part of the game – 11. WB Games Support confirmed it on the forums that this is an issue and will look for a fix to it. Players reported that starting the game over and doing the Arena before you reach lvl 11 works fine, but if you try to do it past lvl 11, you will most likely encounter the same bug.

I tried the arena mission twice without success. I saw a few users post that it worked for them after they went back to minas ithil and let a captain kill them. Dieing by just one captain didn't work. I identified every captain that I encountered in the arena and I let them kill me one by one. After I did that I got the Olag champion as my first opponent and I was able to complete the mission.

Pickledwizard did you get their names and seek them out of the arena and let them kill you or did you let them kill you in the arena and restart after each death? Because when I did the identify in the arena and then sought them outside the arena I let each one kill me all except Hoshu The Tactician couldn't find him, then went into the arena took out Hoshu and the lineup changed to all low level Captains around 6 to 8 was expecting the 2 before that leveled to 26 & 30. Think the arena needs to adjust to the players level instead of thinking everyone is going to know do this before level 11.

Hi Guys,

I had this glitch on PS4. None of the fixes I read about worked at all. What I figured I would try was to turn off the internet to my console, and play the game offline. I'm happy to report that that has worked for me and a few friends.

It seemed to me to be a problem with my WBPlay account trying to access data from SOM, so turning off the internet cuts the ability for it to access the network, forcing the mission to take data from the offline source.

I hope this helps someone out. Good luck.
