SubMission - Throw a Boulder at the Gate HELP

I just went on a vengance quest with this as the sub objective and I lost the gate symbol like 10 seconds into the mission and never got it back. I trashed through the city, killed 3 captains, rampaged for a half hr, and nothing. I'm not sure where my might/rage meter is that lets me throw a boulder, but I didn't have a target so long as I was spotted (which is crazy cause im on a freaking colossus - of COURSE im gonna be spotted lol)

Any advice for when I encounter this on my playthrough?

Bump. I also got stuck here as I didn't know how to throw a boulder at the gate. It might have to do with these artilery orc but the timer ended before I could find one.

I'll bump too, since this post is the 1st thing that came up on a google search... Vendetta mission has me riding a Graug (before I can in the normal game) and I can't figure out how to throw a boulder.

Well I can partly help my own post here, but I'll still need someone to fill in the part about the gate icon disappearing.

Throwing a boulder requires a full 'might' bar that is gained by smashing enemies (x button on the 360 controller). Once that's done, you can throw a boulder with a controller combination that I THINK is right trigger + right bumper? It showed the controls so quickly once I unlocked the ability to ride one in the game that I already forgot lol. I'm still not up to this mission in my game, so if some friendly soul can state the exact controls on kb and controller that'd be awesome too!

I'm having the exact same issue. The controls for the bumpers I'd wager are the same on all consoles/controllers. Tried using the right trigger and right bumper combination with full might and I dismounted the Graug so that didn't work
I KNOW I saw a very quick tutorial pop up during the beginning of the game that mentioned throwing boulders, and I believe it did mention using the right bumper with another button....but I can't get it to work. I was beginning to think only elemental graugs could throw boulders since the tutorial prompt occured during the beginning of the game while riding a Fire Elemental Graug...but that makes no sense that only elemental graug's can hurl boulders.
This would be so much easier if the "guide" mentioned the key command in question....but their is zero reference to it at all in the game. Glad to know I'm not the only one frustrated with this.

If you're using mouse and keyboard, then when you have a full might bar, hold RMB to aim and hit Ctrl to throw a boulder.

because I had some trouble with this, you gotta throw the boulder at the gate to the tower, not the one outside that you spawn by.. just incase it's not a technical might issue, and a gate issue

So when you mount a graug in free roam you can't throw boulders? I"m using a PS4 controller btw.

Of course you can. You just need to fill up the might bar.

So the keyboard commands, according to the guide i'm looking at, would translate to:
CTRL would be the "mount, shoulder charge, grab, pick up" button. and the right mouse button is the "counter" button. I'll give that a shot.

right bumper + triangle (Y for xbox)

No good. No matter what the right bumper always makes me jump off or, if I hold it, kill the graug.

Then it's not the right bumper. Whatever button puts you in aim mode for your bow normally, that's what you need to hold to aim while on the Graug.

In my case, I ended up accidentally dismounting which apparently failed the mission. I haven't had that one again, but at least now I know how to do it.

yeah my issue isn't controls it's that no matter how many boulders I throw at the stupid gate it's not going to give in I can clearly see the texture of the door is Not designed to be destructible...
