Betrayals

Anyone else getting an insane amount of betrayals. Been a fairly frequent thing through my gameplay so far. I just had 4 orcs simultaneously betray me at the same time along a reoccuring cursed betrayer. So really? The game is just burning through the orcs Im putting time and effort into grooming and leveling?

ya i went through hell trying to recruit a legendary orc after beating him down 4 times i got him on the 5th. used him twice and BOOM betrayed me and had to put him down. =(

The amount of betrayals is insane. I've had 100% of followers I've sent on a single kill mission do it. It's gotten to the point that I just kill every orc on sight now, what the hell is the point in bothering recruiting them if they just instantly turn on me for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason.

Not to piss on the sandwich cart some more but those orcs from MT's are also going to do this.

this is kind of cool to have unreliable troops. is this random or tied ot a player choice?

Considering orcs gained via boxes are no different I dunno why you'd bother bringing that up. We got plenty of threads with MT whining can we please stop injecting them into other threads free of it please.

I've yet to have one betray me but I imagine it will happen soon enough. Maybe they will tweak the numbers or something because that is certainly a chore if they're betraying you at the rate you acquire them.

To be fair though they're orcs afterall.

Had only one "betrayal", which i wouldnt even call a betrayal...
Was kinda funny, ive sent out my Orc to betray his commander, he started the fight far away from me and he was dead before i reached them.
An hour later he "cheated death" and "betrayed" me, for letting him die, at the same moment.

Oh yeah,.. he actually told me why hes betraying me... dont they always do that? Cuz ppl wonder why...

Haha no. Pointing out the mistakes they made months before the game even came out and thought this kind of crap was "A-OK" and tolerable in any way doesn't warrant any respite from nothing short of a barrage of salt over the crap they pulled :D

I've been betrayed twice so far. Once by a follower who blamed me for his death during a Fortress Assault (he never even went into the Bleed Out phase, nothing I could have done) and once by my Bodyguard who got angry at me because I let another follower die during a mission (that one I'll take the blame for. I wanted to see if the Tank class bonus applies when fighting other Uruks. In true Shadow of Mordor fashion, it does not).

So no, that's not too many all things considered.

Just out of curiosity since I just started recruiting orcs a few minuts ago, do the ones from the pre order bonuses/loot boxes betray you as well?

All the orcs are the same it doesn't matter what source you acquire them from. You simply got a headstart with the pre-order bonuses.

They can betray you to answer your question.

Apparently Orcs you recruit and train up that are close to your level have a higher chance of betrayal. Also sending them on mission where one of their "fears" are triggered during the mission also increase the change. Friendly Fire even as a result of AOE might also contribute to betrayal.

Had a fair few. I broke a legendary captain's ironwill after 6 tries, the first try he grew 20 odd levels and went crazy. Finally get around to branding him and level him back up to my level. Got Ambushed by his blood brother who i branded way before, he betrays me, forced to kill him. And of course legendary captain finds out and also betrays and now i can't recruit him lol.

Ive come to realise with the inevitable betrayals its actually best to use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ possible orcs in every upper level position. Level up nothing but orcs that have halariously easy to counter instant death weaknesses for their inevitable betrayal. That legendery with absolutely no weaknesses or counters looks good on paper, but its just going to be a pain in the ass down the line.
