Can I just grind to maximum XP in act one?
Looks like the war chiefs spawn is infinite (red skulls on the map), and "casual events" too (quests that pop up usually involving the killing of an ork chief).
Everyone of these gives you XP.

Are they infinite? Does it mean I can grind to maximum level just killing chiefs over and over in act one?

You could, but that would be quite boring.

wow that slighlty demotivates me :(
No point in proceeding in the main story if I get no real benefit from it

Well, a huge amount of the abilities are quest-locked so without doing the questline you're limiting yourself as to what you can do.

Also, step one: Get ♥♥♥♥ done, get your first collections, and then DO get out of Minas Ithil as soon as you can, because the Nem system doesn't *really* open up until then.

:steamfacepalm:

Ok Mr. Buzzkillington.

If the game too easy, it's borring. If the game is too hard, it's frustrating. I would personally want to keep the game challenging to maintain the perfect balance of fun and just move on. Not grind out a XP "exploit" just because it's a benefit.

This is nonsense. For one thing, the "benefit" is the journey itself. And if you want a gameplay benefit, you'll get levels a whole lot faster actually going through the story instead of grinding out level 3 captains.
