Is it possible to go back to the first areas after ACT I?

Buddy of mine sbeat the first region and was unable to fast travel back to it, locking side activities.

Press 'M' for the map and go back lol.. Not sure how he's unable to go back there. I easily could.

This is after completing both areas in the first act?

Not letting me go back there either. If I look at the quest log and find one from there it will take me to the local map but I can't fast travel there. I missed quite a bit and no way to go back to a previous save either.

Mine says fast travel unavailable, id imagine after you progress past the tutorial and do the first seige think and the world unlocks... we should be able to travel freely.

after you take your first fortress in nurnen, minas morgul and cirith ungol will become available again, along with, im pretty sure, the other two areas

just keep doing missions, all maps will be fully available eventually

Finish the story campaign, and then all areas are open.
