Installed video device does not support Directx 11 features (Solved)
I have a brand new alienware laptop with a 7th gen i7 processor and a Nvidia Geforce GX 1070 Graphics card. I went to play this game, it opened normally but i noticed that the recommended graphics were way lower than they should have been for my graphics card, and the fps was extremely low. I saw that it was running my integrated graphics card instead to I changed it to my Nvidia card. I went back into the game and nothing had changed, so I assumed that I had to restart the game. I closed out and when I tried to open it again I got an error message saying "Installed video device does not support Directx 11 features". My graphics card has Directx 12 and can run other Directx 11 games like shadow of mordor with no problem, so I don't know what the issue is.

I updated my drivers for both the integrated graphics and the Nvidia graphics, I tried going into the Nvidia control panel and setting the default graphics card to Nvidia. I tried going into the shadow of war files and ran the DXSETUP file. I reinstalled the game, restarted my computer twice, and nothing has worked. I ran dxdiag and it recognized that i had Directx 12. I don't know what the issue is and have been trying to fix it for the past 4 and a half hours to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I just disabled my Nvidia graphics card, ran shadow of war, and then enabled it again, now I have to get the game to actually use it.

i fixed it by going to C:\Users\<your username>Documents\WB Games\Shadow of War. then i opended the render.cgf file with notebook and changed "DeviceAdapter" "1.000000" to "DeviceAdapter" "0.000000". afther that i could play the came and it selected the not integrated videocard.

I went into my device manager, then into display adapters, selected my Nvidia graphics card and clicked disable, I then ran shadow of warand closed it. once I had closed it i went back to device manager->display adapters and reeneabled my graphics card. I then opened shadow of war and it worked, but it didn't use my Nvidia card, so I went into the Nvidia control panel, went into 3d graphics and set it so that the global setting was to use my Nvidia graphics card. Then the game ran extremely well. (ps make sure that you have no setting in the Nvidia control panel set up specifically for shadow of war before you do all of this)

Sounds like if you have multiple cards, or don't select the right videocard slot?

I do have 2 cards

Yes, it selects the wrong adapter for some reason. I am not sure how to fix it(well you already did)

But basicly, instead of starting at slot 1(0) it starts at 1(2nd card).

An easier way to recover from this in Windows 10 was to go to 'Apps & Features' section -> Select 'Middle Earth-Shadow of Mordor' -> Advanced -> Reset
After the reset, I did not have to do anything. The graphics card was selected by default and all previous issues with game graphics were not visible.
