Nemesis difficulty
The game is actually crazy difficult! But I love it! Within the first hour of playing I already had a mini nemesis named Hura the Machine. Cleaved him in half our first encounter, cleaved him in half the second time round, and burned him alive after he actually surprised me with a third visit!

I will say that the single last chance can be very rediculous at times. If you get downed from a multi strike attack and pass it you'll get downed nearly immediately after and then you're out of luck :\
Aside from that this game is amazing!

I still can't decide if going for Normal or Nemesis, i don't have much time but i'd prefer Nemesis if the companion/nemesis system works better. :/

Shadow of Mordor got super easy once you had all of your skills, so I'm happy to have it at a higher difficulty level.

I've made a terrible mistake

Are they wiping their asses with your face?

Definitely this game should be played on nemesis mode. It is way way too easy otherwise. I am expecting to still become too OP by the end though-- we shall see. So far on nemesis, I have died a few times and I never died in SOM ever, so this is already an improvement. (I am still early in the game btw)

I can kick *** in these types of usually no matter how hard they are, but I fought this real badass orc captain that was throwing down bear traps and ****, yes, BEAR TRAPS... he also had a huge club and could gap close like instantly. I think he has killed me twice lol.

Awesome game aside from trash denuvo, once again terrible decision by WB. I can tell Denuvo is causing a performance hit-- SOM ran perfectly, but SOW feels a little off in terms of performance... all those thousands of extra calls from denuvo to run the game code from virtual machines all over your HD take its toll for those of us without super computers.

Utterly and completely. The speed in which they adapt is actually throwing me off.

One thing that makes this game innately harder is the fact that you can't upgrade your HP without gear. Each hit I take is a huge chunk of HP removed.

I am finding the overall enemy damage to be the main thing to look out for-- one hit takes off a lot of health just as you said.

I was wondering how long it'd be before someone came in saying something like this.

Here's a fruit basket.

Then you just got lucky with bad captains. Just play a bit more and for sure you will bite your teeth out ;)

yah, it's pretty awesome, all of a sudden, all those orc attributes matter for a change, love it

I've been playing on Normal for 90 minutes or so, since usually I enjoy Normal difficulties in games and find that anything harder is usually hard in annoying ways like enemies killing you in a few hits before you can do anything.

And honestly Normal is just way too easy compared to Shadow of Mordor. I'm killing orc captains left and right without having to struggle, other than one tanky guy who gave me a little trouble they just die in like 20 seconds. I dunno if this is just the prologue level or if it's like this the rest of the game. Wondering if I can change to Nemesis or do I have to restart?

The combat also feels kinda...mushy compared to the first game, kinda like the way Arkham Knight felt to me compared to the other Arkham games. I'm sure it will speed up and get more intense as the game goes on but it doesn't feel as crazy as the default difficulty in the first game.
