Game Not Saving

I am not sure why this is happening. Everytime I close my game I get rolled back a few hours of gameplay. I have 100% cleared Nurnen about 3 times now and can't move past it because when I load my save game I have to sttart Nurnen from scratch. This is an improvement from when it rolled me back to the ending quests of Minas Ithil. So the game is not completely not saving but I don't think I should be losing 10 levels of progress everytime I quit.

Im having a similar problem. Just started up my game. lost like 4hours of gameplay :(

Tried that too, everytime i start the game now. I start at the same place with no progress done. No matter what i do. Completed all Gondor missions (again...) and now when i start it don't save any of the stuff i do ingame

Not Warchiefs, not missions,not gear etc. Lost 2 Fortresses

Turn off steam cloud, aswell fast travel to a fast travel point when you are about to exit game.

Tried this, didnt work. Made a nev save and lost that too after 2 days of playing :(

Just going to throw this out there for everyone since they don't seem to be doing much to figure out the main cause of this horrible game breaking save glitch, idk what causes it and idk how it can be reproduced, but i ran into this glitch recently and it pissed me off because i had to do the bright lord quest 4 times and all the Carnan quests 4 times only to have my progress reverted back to before i did any of them so i spent many hours trying to figure out anything i can do to get this fixed to no avail, but recently i dug around the updates and tried many different things to fix this since i like this game so much, and happily i can say recently i fixed this problem somehow and its once more working, i tried doing small one quests at a time and shutting the game off to reload and it would finally load where i left off, these are the steps i took in order to achieve it, it wont get any lost saves back, but if your old previous save keeps reverting back try this and if it works spread it around or let everyone know so hopefully there will be a partial fix until they possibly do something about it, its working so far but i cant say if eventually it will break and return once more.

First thing i tried was something i found at another place where disabling steam cloud sync for the game, that didn't work alone on its own, it was still repeatedly reverting back every time i reopened the game, Then after digging around the shadow of war updates i saw they changed the save folder from "Documents/WB Games/Shadow of War" to the Local App Data Folder "%localappdata%\WB Games\Shadow of War", so what i did since i realized it saved the game and didn't mysteriously revert back until i reloaded the game after closing it, so i made some progress in the game enough to cause a few saves to happen, then before i closed the game i went to the new save folder in the local appdata i copied the whole save folder by compressing a backup to a zip file, and i replaced the whole documents folder with the folder i made a backup of and replaced the saves in the steam user data shadow of war folder for the new saves that a copied in the new save folder before i closed the game, the next time i loaded it resumed where it was supposed to and the next time it saved it did it successfully, i cannot guarantee it will successfully fully resolve the problem for the rest of your gaming experience, but if your that adamant about playing the game then making a backup of the folder each time before you close the game and replacing the files when progress is lost is a small price to pay in the long run compared to losing hours of game play progress.

The whole fast travel and progressing time to force a save did absolutely nothing, until i completed those steps it would always revert back to the older save, i have not been able to make the save progress until following those steps, try them out and see if it works for you.

To: (location of the steam folder .../userdata/10600241/356190/remote)
in my case - j:/Steam/userdata/10600241/356190/remote/00a1bf31_ShadowOfWar
yea... this works for me... This is what I will be doing until a fix is avaliable

im doing the same thing, it seems like the game would automatically updating the savegames in local/WBgames folder (only) rather than steam/remote folder which is the one they use to load the game.

it will always load the file from that folder until we delete that file, then it automatically import the updated one from local/WBgames folder. So i always delete it manually after i quit the game and let themself get the new updated one everytime i started the game. Such PITA and idk how to fix that.
