Shadow of War Won't Start
So I bought Shadow of war yesterday. I wanted to start playing it today. When I click play, steam says I'm in game for like 2 sec and then the game stuts down. I don't even get anything on my screen. Any help?

Verify the game cache. Right click the game in your library, select properties. Under Local Files tab select Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Let it scan your files and redownload anything missing or corrupt.

if that doesnt work, open the local files, find shadows of war icon and select "open with your graphics processor" or w.e...

I ran it in admin, and at that point a bubble from my antivirus software (comodo) popped up and said it was running the program virtually. I then went into my comodo settings and unblocked Shadow of War. It has run beautifully ever since.

I had the same problem -> Game absolutely Won't Start - only 1 sec table with starting and then nothing. / Problem SOLVED !!! / Forget on uninstaling other programs or searching for game folder in your documents. Just open list of your installed programs and search for Microsoft visual C++. Uninstall all 2015 versions and newest. Then install this version: MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ 2015 REDISTRIBUTABLE (X64) - 14.0.23026 It worked for me (win7 64bit Nvidia GTX 570M) If you have same problem so try another version of C++ I think the problem is on 90% in versions of it.

I had same issue - game was shutting down instantly after I tried to play it. No error, or any information from the app.
It appears that Comodo was blocking Shadow of War. Unlocking it from Comodo's menu fixed my problem.

Yeah that fixed it for me as well

This worked for me.
(Althou I didn't download that from your link, that looked somewhat shady to me (Not trying to imply anything, just... it wasn't in english), but straight from Microsoft site I found by googling the version name)

Thanks!

I managed to get it working by changing the compatibility running setting.
Right-click ShadowOfWar.exe -> Compatibility -> Compatibility Mode (Dropdown box) -> Windows 7 (My OS)
Also set the privilege Level to run the program as an administrator by default.
It's what worked for me. Hope this helps :)

try to delete the " gpu.nfo " and "render.cfg" from the save game folder , check inside the cloud storage folder if it exists .

Rolling back to C++ - 14.0.23026 worked for me.

Sorry about the necro. But help about this issue is scarce. So I wanted to confirm the fix.
