The game continue after this quest ?

Hello,

so I finished all side quests for all "factions" except a quest for Elthariel called "the Bright Lord" but it is written that there will be no turning back if I launch the quest. It could mean two things so if someone already cleared it I would appreciate some help.

1. If I launch the quest I can't come back to my forteress for a while but once the final quest is done I'll be back in the game where I left it.

2. I launch and complete the quest and the game is over and I have to start all over again.

It weird since I only have 28% finished on siege missions even tho I have Nurnen, Cirith Ungol, Gorgoroth and Seregoth)

Yes, it very much continues, it just does a huge leap in plot. I don't know how it interacts with story, since I grinded out all the collectables and quests before that, but you are able to resume play after that, and after the finale and stuffs
