Citadel upgrade

So, I am trying to unlock the citadel upgrade and it says you have to complete the fight pits-champion. I have had 2 orcs win champion fights now and yet the upgrade is still locked. Am I missing something?

You need to win the champion fights pits for each region to upgrade the fortess in that region

I have won the champion fight in this region twice, but the upgrade is still locked.

It's level locked, you can not get it before a certain level. I believe 45 since they are 5 level increments. Doesn't do a very good job of explaining that.

Do you have the level 40 upgrade? You need that before the champion one unlocks. Also, i found grinding the maggot fights is the safest way to level up you legendaries and epics. 3 to 4 level increase per win. Max them out before fighting Champions.

Oh, well that explains that. I am only level 38.

ACTUALLY ! to get it go into siege upgrads it should allow you to place another captain onto the defenses

Same here, beat the Champions Pit Fight (lol with a Lvl 18 Orc) and am unable to place a new orc or unlock the "Citadel upgrade" guess I have to get to level 40 first
