that means he was exhausted. if an uruk has the exhaustion perk, he'll flee after his rage wears off

People, Overawed is not the same thing as Exhaustion.

ive seen this happen in long fights with multiple captains, basically you kill one or two and the other one thinks twice about continueing the fight out of being impressed by said fight, its just another form of terrified really

I know it's like 5 years passed but i had just once experienced that. I had a battle with one orc who was immune to arrows, executions, and was a savage. That's why it was a long fight. It was about 10 minutes. I was dodging all his attacks and striking while he was in animations of special attacks. So after 10 minutes he got that status and ran. Strong orc i must say, i captured him. Too bad pits are broken so he died there :(
