how do you recognize main from side quests?

How do we know which quests are main or side? iam doing the quests of the first two areas(the first two from the right on the list of quests) and just finished the mission where you kill the heartless warchief.

Each quest line has a different symbol in the middle. I'm not sure which is considered the 'main' one, maybe the one with the female Elf whats-her-name...

The main questline is first Shelob and then Ilthariel. Bruz is more of a guide through maintaining your army and everything captains do, and Kharnan is all about learning the beasts and the skills for them

Yes iam doing ilthariel now. After complete all of them then i wll do Shelob memories. Then is the final one which is Shadow of war? But from that i read the game forcrs you to do all side quests too in order to level up high enough for shadow of wars. Is tha true?

Iam at 42% Gondor Quests and 50% Shelob quests. Are they all main quests? From the other quests which oens are main?

Shelob and Gondor are the main quests for act I (not the memories, actual quests). For act II Elthariel has the main quest, Act III only has 3 fights, and act IV has the shadow wars (just fort defenses), but before heading into act III, make sure to finish all other quests from kharnan, elthariel and bruz, because you can't do those anymore after going into III (it'll tell you that if you try to start it so don't worry about it)

All exclamation point markers are main quests. I'm guessing others are just side quests. I'd recommened doing them if they are just side quests because they complement the main quest line drastically and you need that sweet sweet xp

I just finished the first mission of act2 where you brand 10 archers but i dnot see Etherial in quest list. What should i do?

Basically, I noticed that one of my Eltariel quests tells me that there is no turning back after this, so I am going to leave that one until last.

I did the first Etherial quest. Now it says that i must capture all towers in Nurven to continue. How do i find the,m? Iam searching on Nurven map and dont see them.

The towers are marked with an eye of sauron on the minimap, each region has 3 of them

Are those who are marked with a yellow icon who looks like a eye ?

They're called "Haedir towers", it'll say so when you hover over them too, just control those and the mission will be available

it seems like the main quest is the Shelob questline, the Elteriel questline, and the Shadow Wars (Siege questline), in order to get to the ending credits, with the timeskip and Talon arriving in the afterlife, but in order to unlock some of the main quests it requires to do a few of the side quests as well, such as some of the starting gondor quests, or capturing and defending the initial fortress, or unlocking some of the towers for vision
