Do you like new combat system?
There are many things I find to be wrong with this game.
But rather major part was combat system.
Shield-man, Spear throwers and crossbows are horribly balanced.
Shield-man takes 0.1 sec to throw a strike, if you're striking a frozen enemy, You cant dodge while you're in that animation. Making it almost impossible to avoid getting struck.
Range enemies are bombarting you none stop, you're going through none ending dodging sprees. Making combat annoying and pointless, Not to mention how quickly they will fire at you without much of a warning.
New giant enemies are just annoying.
This new combat system is taking a fun out of the gameplay.
Character skills are just so horrible, taking out a major ability and all the idioticness.
Getting skill points was improving your character, now it just changing abilities, there is no reward in getting skill points after you unlock all the main abilities.
Long story short, I tried to like this game so hard, I spent 60$ on it and I loved SoM.
But I have to lie to myself to think that I'm having fun/ its not right!
I hope in next update they will completely change combat system.:steamsad:

they wont be changing the combat system beyond some balancing lol this isn't an mmo where mechanics and abilites change every so often xD

The battle system feels harder now, which is a good thing. In SoM you could easily tyake on 100 orcs because they were all the same all the same level of weakness.

Shield carriers are easy to kill, get behind them or shoot them with arrows and they are done

Archers are even easierm, shoot them with a bow or climb up to them. The spear throwers are target #1, roll over to them and beat them up :p

Giants are kind of annoying but the same difficulty as say a caragor, beat, dodge, stun, climb ontop of stab to death while you make hi mram other orcs.

The character skills make it so we're not supremely overpowered. In SoM you were overpowered so quickly it was insane :/ By adding in upgrades you can choose what type of abiltiy you want without being too overpowered from having every abiltiy you want.

Yeah because being able to summon aGraud 1/5th of the game in is in no way OP.

Still its a LOT btter than Shadow of Mordor. You went from cripplingly underpowered to SUPER UBER AWESOME OP in like 2 hours. He it is much mor gradual. I was so used to SoM that not being able to dominate orcs for the first act made me uneasy and felt frustrating.

I quite like the way the combat is now. It's a nice change over being able to kill almost anything from level 1 in the first game

I find it offensive that you're trying to teach me how to beat a game.
really? You jump over them?
I cant believe how little you got out of my comment. How mindless your response was.

If you're in the city and you're chasing someone, you will enter situations where its only way of survival is to run away.
I guess you enjoy that instead of combat and reflex and tactics, its all about running away and getting your health back and coming back later on.

Says the guy who just mindlessly said that all sub-options for skills are pointless. Go to bed man.

Are you saying you had an issue unlocking all the skills? That took a long time for you?
Because I had them unlocked almost right away.

on max difficulty, the game very much does rely on environmental aids...

you get outmatched, outnumbered, and overwhelmed and are forced to use all the arrows, all the explosives, all the junk laying around...

and then the damn orc cheats death...

i've basically resorted to trying to save my elven rage just in the case they cheat death, because i'm sick of having to leave an area and let all the arrows/explosives/grog/etc respawn...

i've on several occasions been stuck in a fight for over an hour because of this kinda nonsense.

I said it wasn't improving anything, but your gameplay style. Its not better its just there. Its like getting item drop in team fortress. Its not rewarding.
You stupid little douche

No I never had a "issue" cupcake. Where did you even glean that in my comment? I said Shadow of Mordor, progression was sudden and powerful. Shadow of WAr its more gradual. The BASE skills unlock (or rather might unlock) pretty early but the subskills are gamechanging and your throwaway line about their uselessness is ill informed and plain wrong. Like I said go to bed because im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say your tired and not an actual moron.

I feel the same. What I do it find a tall building, climb so I get out of the sights of captains and then drop on them, over and over again.
I never lose a fight but I'm not having fun.

Poor whiney crybaby, his one mindless way of playing isn't working out so he has to cry on the forums about it. What a sad individual

subskills aren't useless, you can only keep one out of three? DId you figured that out or do you think all of them are active you brain dead idiot?
I said its pointless after you unlock your specific subskill, you cant use others, It changes gameplay, but its not improving anything or rewarding anything.

yeah, I have never died to the orc enemy yet. But I'm such a mindless gamer I cant figure out, how to run away and kill an enemey to get my health back.
Maybe I read a book of great tactics about running away and getting your health back and coming back in the fight, wow what an amazing method you have figured out.
