Does the Map open up or something? [SPOILERS]

I'm in act 2 I think. Anyway spoiler alert:

I see on my map other fortresses and stuff like osgiliath and minas tirith. For those ahead of me are they accessible later in the game?

Once you capture your first fortress I believe, all the regions unlock.

I have taken two fortresses so far. The one on Nurn from story missions and the one in Cirith Ungol. The other regions, seregoth and gorgorth, have been unlocked but not all the other fortresses.

No. Aside from the 4 regions, ALL other fortresses are just post-endgame side missions.

I believe so, but you start the missons from pre-existing regions.

Things like Minas Tirith aren't accessible in the game and are there as lore entries.

I have a feeling many will open up in DLC's. But we'll see. Right now, they are jsut lore markers.

One thing I don't get is that the devs themselves said we would be able to travel to Minas Tirith and Osgiliath when asked about it in an interview. Guess it was a misinformed dev haha
