What effect does deranged have on an orc?
What effect does deranged have on an orc? Are they more loyal because they're a drooling mess. Are they less effective fighters, ect...?

They basically become insane, losing their mind. I don't believe they have any effects on them so far apart from that... The orcs I have made deranged haven't changed much, it's just their personality that altered for me.

is there a way to revert deranged, say an orc you had to force iron will away with shaming and is now deranged and want him back to normal

I'm pretty sure that's impossible. In part because they're considered highly disposible, in other part the main character doesn't have a particular interest in curing orcs of insanity he's not too fond of them.

I have a deranged Olog,a product of multiple shamings but he still fights just as effectively, albeit with the iron will trait removed since that was my whole purpose of shaming in the first place.
I think manic might remove it. Slim chance though, but the orc i repeatedly shamed and then attempted to shame grew 40 odd levels and got legendary, so it's not all bad.

Can a deranged orc turn into a manic? I ask because I shamed an orc many times and had been unable to get him to turn manic. I did have one become "The unashamed" however. That was after the first shaming I'm not sure if he was a manic, but he did become stronger for it.

Not sure but it doesn't feel like it, might be bad luck on my part but I spend a solid couple hours or more just sending death threats and shaming the same orc over and over, sometimes I'd intentionally lose to him to boost his levels back up again then start shaming again and he never became a maniac. What was annoying was straight after I gave up I did an online siege and when I shammed the Commander he turned into a Maniac =\

I also tried just shaming every orc I run into and still haven't created a maniac in my own game.

I believe that shaming captains can cause them to gain negative / weakness traits, ranging from becoming terrified of something, to taking heavy damage from a source, or becoming dazed and whatnot.

However, having said this, I can't help but to continue my reign of shame them for the unexpected, sometimes hilarious consequences.

For example, this is, by far, the funnest damn byproduct of shaming (for me at least):

Just so you know, everything turned out great for him, in the end.

i know this is an old topic, but one thing i think is that deranged commanders cant get new traits. i gave around 20 death threats now to a captain i want to make a necromancer and he didnt get any traits at all. not even a mount. and he had a mount before he got deranged. i also wasnt able to make him maniac
