Game won't start - failed to initialize renderer error message
Hey everyone,

I'm not great with computers and am unable to find a solution to this problem.

Specs:
ASUS G750 Gaming Laptop
Windows 8.1
i7-4700HQ
Nvidia GeForce GTX860M
16GB RAM

I downloaded/installed the latest Nvidia game ready driver and Shadow of War.

When I try to start the game my screen goes black and there is an error message which reads:
"Failed to initialize renderer. Failed to create IDXGISwapChain."

Another forum post with the same problem reverted to the previous Nvidia game driver and it worked for them but not for me. I get the exact same message after reverting to the previous driver.
I just validated the game files and Steam says they are 100% valid.

I have no idea what to do from here, Nvidia GeForce Experience doesn't show the game in the game view of the program's home page, even after scanning for games.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been anticipating this game for so long!

Thank you

UPDATE:

It seems this error has to do with the fact that I have multiple displays and use my laptop screen as an extended desktop.
I am able to start the game if I just ouput the video to my TV screen.
I prefer having an extended desktop so it is inconvenient to have to change the display settings every time I play this game. If anybody knows a fix for this it would be very helpful.

If anyone else is having this issue as a result multiple display outputs simply right click on your desktop>Graphics Options>Output To> (then select the single display you want to use).
Hopefully this fix will still work if I now reinstall the game ready driver.
