Are trainers allowed to use in Shadow of War?
Hello guys!

I just wanted to ask, if trainers are allowed in shadow of war. I read that it is violating the conditions when you cheat silver coins and all the stuff you need real money for. But as long as I dont cheat myself the stuff you need money for etc. am I allowed to use it? Only in singleplayer, of course.

They haven't said anything official as of yet. So the unofficial stance is currently "Use at your own risk".

people cheat in near invincible orcs for the multiplayer and nothing seems to happen to them, just go for it, shadow wars is just singleplayer

Not really just singleplayer, your fortresses are used for online conquest and will ruin it for other players. If you are going to cheat - make sure to play offline.

Did you not read the agreement at the start then? It says pretty clearly that cheating is prohibited.

If you're going to cheat, do us all a favor and stay offline.

I am cheating only for fun purposes. Like when you come home from a hard day of work, you dont wanna think and look at everything, you just wanna chill. So do I. In Shadow of Mordor, it was pretty easy to kill thousands of uruks without getting hit a single time or getting killed. In Shadow of War it is harder, in my opinion.

They are not prohibited in singleplayer. That line exists because of the online fortress mode. I guarantee you, if you disconnect your computer from the Net, you can cheat to your hearts content and nothing will happen.

I know. I was just correcting him about cheating not being allowed in singleplayer. They couldn't care less about the singleplayer, its the multiplayer they are concerned about. The problem is those 2 are tied together here and you have to pretty much be offline in order for them not to be.

why would anyone think something will happen if you do? has there been any evidence of this? it is not a VAC game, nothing can happen to your steam account for being a cheating bastard lol

Why do there have to be consequences for something to be wrong?
Roflmaou Nov 11, 2017 @ 10:29am
well they were asking if it was "allowed", meaning consequences....not asking if it was right or wrong...

they can prohibit it all they like in wording, saying it's wrong etc but if there's no actual enforcement? then it is indeed allowed.

I did some searching and came up with these from the EULA for the game.

This is a direct quote from the end user license agreement: "You may not modify the Game Client or any portion thereof", here is another direct quote: "You may not develop, distribute or use any third party program designed to impact the Game experience, including without limitation software bots, cheats, hacks or any other software designed to provide a player with an advantage". Now i'm not an expert (far from it) in these matters, but this seems to be pretty straight forward.

So technically the person would be breaking the agreement and therefore also breaking the law.
Not that anybody would care really but if we are being literal, then yeah it's not allowed legally.
Roflmaou Nov 11, 2017 @ 10:53am
EULAs are not legally binding documents, they hold no power in court.

still doesn't mean you should commit a crime though, in a single player game trainers are not illegal, online portions though I would think so as it gives unfair advantage vs others.
