Blocking Caragor attacks doesn't do anything..
I see the prompt come up onscreen like everything else, it's the standard Block icon, but pressing it does nothing that I can tell. No matter what my timing is, the Caragors always land hits against me.

Is this like the F (Execution) prompts that pop up but can't be used, as in I have to have full Might or take a perk for Caragor blocking?

Absolutely loving the game except for a few minor annoyances like this..

Another one is E (Stun savages)... Press E and nothing happens.

with a xbox controller : first you see B appear (domination button), and you need to press it repetitively and fast, to fill the circle quickly, and then you need to press Y (normal counter button)

Oh ok, that makes sense why it's not responding when I hit the E key (default Dominate on PC). Not sure how I missed that, but eh..stuff happens. Thanks for the info.

If you block them as they pounce, you'll gut-stab them in mid air and throw them to the ground for an easy kill. Other than that, just dodge and follow up with 2 elf shots to the face. Best option - shadow mount one after another for an instant caragor pack of your own.

I swear it's working differently now than it first did. I used to get the prompt, I'd hit the Counter key, and Talion would "toss" them overhead. I guess he was stabbing them as well? But the "block" would avoid all damage. Now, when I do the Counter they just hit me every time. The counter icon will appear, disappear, reappear, disappear, reappear...and I quickly take damage, enough to get down to the heartbeating low level pretty fast, and I have to run away for a couple of headshots.
