Captains dying without reason.
So some of my captains seem to die without any reason. Im not doing conquest or the captain aint doing quests or anything. One time when I opened my army menu the captain was alive then I closed it and reopened the army menu and the captain was dead? Anyone else having this problem?

Yep -- yet another odd bug. Had it happen several times so far. One captain died multiple times so I kept resurrecting him... Gave up after the 3rd time.

Seems like there are quite a few bugs involving the army menu specifically. I've specifically seen dead orcs that never disappear, spontaneous captain deaths, and somthing else I can't remember at the moment. Just waiting for a patch to fix it.

I've never seen dead orcs not get replaced aside from when the dead orc comes back having cheated death. Never had a spontaneous death. I own most the field in all the areas if not all as far as dominated orcs go. Your captains will do various missions though you get three advancements to participate before they play out on their own. In such cases your orcs can die. For example you may have an orc on a graug hunt that is beast fodder and fears graugs. He can be lvl 60, and the safe bet is on the graug still. I'm playing on nemesis difficulty myself too.

The only 2 bugs I have seen myself in over 100hrs is, garbage AI in pit fights, especially if the combatants are mounted. And the other was the physics bug with fabrics not rendering at all, which has been fixed.

I wonder how many "bugs" given this are just people needing to do a clean install of the game and doing the neglected maintenance due on ones PC. I help solve a vast array of technical issue on steam forums and in doing so the thing that stands out is that most gamers do not know how to own and operate their PC's properly, and as soon as an issue pops up it must be a bug. upwards of 80% of the bugs reports in my experience are user issues that can be solved. Actual bugs exists too of course. They are just more rare than people seem to think.

I mean if I had a nickle for every bug report/Issue solved by updating a driver or OS. I could retire early on that amount....

Ive seen alot of dead orcs never disappearing. Ive had like 4 or 5 dead on my screen and still get a message that the garrison is full trying to insert a new orc. How often should someone need to do a full reinstall of a game when there (as far as I know) had not been a single patch yet. I know there is one now resolving a few minor things but that shouln`t be a problem either.
Im glad you are not having any issues, its possible you have been lucky or you just didnt notice them but personally I dont feel like I should take the blame for the game acting strangely.

Yeah I know that the captains may die in quests but the issue here is that they are not doing any quests. They just die spontaneously without any reason. Sucks... lost few legendarys that I had really upgraded a shrak ton.

How often is not a metric available. As many times as it takes. There is a ton of things that can go sideways when DLing and installing files. There's no reasonable way to track them all to come up with a metric to use that would answer that question. There has been at least one patch, as I mentioned the physics issue was solved. My game is on auto update though so I did not see when it was. I'm not trying to blame anyone either. It's just I have enough time in the game to have seen bugs if they are there. Most of the ones I read about on the forum are not there. So it safe to say we all have the same game and that software works without these issue on my PC. That leaves your PC as the culprit then. So rather than assume bug, you are much better off assuming there are driver updates or software issues on your end. If it is a bug it would tied to specific hardware that you have and I do not. Otherwise I cannot see how this bug could present for some only with the same software. Not out to chastise anyone with issues. Just trying to make the point that more often than not a bug is a user issue and not a bug at all. So waiting with baited breath for a fix could easily be futile.

Well I did start a new game recently so I will be keeping an eye out if there is any new issues on this playthrough. If there is I will try a new install if that helps. But if the save itself somehow gets corrupted I have no idea what the next step would be. I will not be starting over again a third time.
