Siege defense upgrades
In regards to shadow wars when you buy upgrades for your defenses (stone walls, defenders, ect) are they permanant for each region or tied to the orc you slot in and if he dies you lose them, or if for example the stone walls are destroyed in the siege do you lose those/the war graug is killed that upgrade is lost? Furthermore if you were to fail in a defense and retake the fort do you then have to rebuy upgrades? Trying to budget the metric ass load of Mirian I have among all stages, but unclear about the above.

Not a 100% sure on all the info but thats what I think:

It's not tied to an orc but to the region, if you buy an upgrade in a certin region you can activate, disable and switch it as much as you want. Replacing the captain won't matter. Same for attack upgrade, region kept, not uruk.

The upgrades are permanent to the region, and you can move orcs around without having to re-purchase them. You do however need to reactivate them if you move a new orc into the slot.

I just need to be PERFECTLY clear, are siege upgrades still there in case I lose a fort and retake it?

For instance.
I defend Nurnen and buy stone walls.
I lose Nurnen.
I retake Nurnen.
Time comes that I have to defend Nurnen once more.
Will I now still have stone walls, or will I have to buy them again?

When I lost a fort, I had to repurchase the upgrades after retaking.

I succesfully defended my Nurnen fort during the first "round" of stages of Shadow Wars. I'm now on stage 5 and it seems I haven't kept my upgrades, even though I didn't even lose orcs the first time around. Dunno what's going on.

Will report back after re-capturing a fortress...

I don't remember having to re-buy upgrades, though, the last time I re-captured a fortress. Just re-activated them is my recollection.

It's not like Mirian is hard to acquire.

I actually find it quite hard to acquire. What's your go-to farming method? I've pretty much burned through my pile of mirian by purchasing metal walls for every fort.

1) Always sell non-legendary equipment. Sell legendary equipment if I already own it.
2) If working on acquiring Mirian, which I haven't needed, equip 2 or more fully upgraded Marauder Legendary items, if you have them.
3) Keep doing daily tasks.
4) If you see Mirian on your mini-map, go pick it up. When stuff is happening in the world, Mirian gets dropped sometimes in fights that don't even involve Talion.
5) Every time you see an Orc with the diamond over it's head, kill it.
6) Do online vengeance quests and complete the bonus goal.

After completing the game (except Shadow Wars), upgrading all forts and playing for about 2 weeks without having bought any of the loot chests, which I didn't realize you could buy with Mirian, I had 250,000+ in Mirian. Also have 6 of every gem fully upgraded - which took the 2nd longest to complete. Only thing taking longer is getting all the Legendary gear.

Now I need to have orcs kill each other in pit fights in order to make room in my garrison, which is now full having bought a crap-load of loot chests.

I currently have 34147 Mirian and that was after emptying my Mirian bank less than a week ago.

Did 5 online vendettas, once done went to inventory to sell things acquired.

And minutes later it's 37182 - having sold all of the non-legedary gear - 10 items @ 300 apiece = 3000 mirian which buys 5 silver loot chests.

Acquiring Mirian isn't hard.

Pardon my ignorance -- what are these daily activities you speak of? The game is so bloated with icons, help messages and menus, sometimes I feel I haven't explored a third of its "features".

Anyway, I'm on Stage 7 of Shadow Wars now. Despite all the talk about how grindy it is -- and it *is* grindy --, I'm not finding the missions *that* difficult, even though I'm not really bothering leveling up my orcs. I'm pitting level 20 orcs against level 45+, and all I've been doing is dominating the invaders and letting my low level defenders bleed out.

Didn't know about the Daily Quest thing either until about halfway through Shadow Wars...

3 ways to reach the "Quests" Menu.
1) Start button (pausing the game), 2nd item on list is Quests.
2) Go to the Map - press Left Button
3) Go to the Army - press Left Button

Any of the three take you to the same screen where there are all the quests with percentage completed.

Either right arrow 11 times or left arrow twice when you reach this menu and .... ta da... Daily Challenges (which update daily - each updates after a certain number of hours) and a Community Challenge (which updates every 5-7 days) - which earn you Gold, Mirian, gems or chests. This screen also shows quests for items you have equipped, which helps keep track of equipped items you are trying to upgrade. For replayability, until I get all the legendary items, is a very nice feature, IMO.

The Daily Challenges can be "replaced" with different ones just letting a certain number of hours pass.

Community Challeges - stuck with what you get. The Community Challenges can be very annoying, because you will complete say half of it. Leave the game. Come back later (can even be minutes) and what you already completed will reset to 0. This doesn't tend to happen with the Daily Challenges, though. Just the Community ones, so YMMV with those. Considering not even bothering with the current one. Had it 3/4s completed (Recruit 4 Destroyer Captains), had to leave the game. Came back 1 hour later and it reset to 0. And now Destroyer Captains aren't showing up at all.

Fastest way for Mirian, though, is reselling equipment you will never use.

Up to 44322 now....

Also, I picked up 150 gold doing Challenges today alone. Usually, there is only 1 "50 gold" challenge each day. Today, there were 3.
