Recycled Animations? What a Joke
All the fight animations are reused from the first game (dodging, executions, etc), reused voice acting+dialog, reused OST.

Idk. It's been 3 years and millions of dollars later and they can't even record some new content? I noticed the same thing with Assassin's Creed: Origins. The tree specifically in the trailer is literally identical to the one in AC3. Come on guys...

The Official Soundtrack for Shadow of Mordor was quite epic, why waste money on trying to make an entire new album instead of just taking inspiration from the original music tracks Monolith did themselves earlier?

The reused voice acting is so, logically also, that it could cost less and also add a little bit more to the Nemesis System without wasting money, logical. (Plus this could mean and confirm the theory stronger that we might be able to import our Shadow of Mordor Ultimate Nemesis)

As I said before, less money, same goes for the old animations being imported to Shadow of War. No reason that this is bad.

Why? Because it turns people off and looks lazy and cheap when you've made a ton of $$$ with your last game? Idk man, why should devs even make new content? Just re-release the same game but slap a "2" on it :^)

okay its animations and sound that is something that I would not want to redo if the original isnt bad. why create a new kill move if its only going to be identical to the previous game? it will cost money and time and not matter that much on the long run. now there will undoubtedly be new animations and sound aswell as other things, but reusing the old stuff makes sense (why would you record a gunshot 5 times for 5 different games when you can do it once and boom there you go) now i dont necessarily agree on reusing assets but exceptions can be made for minor things.

This is a beautiful microcosm detailing exactly why the Steam forums and it's users are actually idiots.

>minor things
>the game's animations

Ok buddy

what I mean is having several reused assets isnt the end of the world now if they reuse all of the old assets and have nothing new at all then ♥♥♥♥ in their mouths and I will join you wholeheartedly .

Every excution and dodge done during the E3 demo was reused from the first game.

Now if they reuse those animations but they only take up maybe 25% with the other 75% being new animations, then whatever that'd be reasonable. But seeings how the music and many of the dialog and voice lines are also reused from the old game, it's not looking like that'll be the case.
Ronoc Totenmeer Jun 16, 2017 @ 8:56am
and I do agree with you but unfortunately we only have the videos to look at so not much we can currently do but sit on out hands and wait for it to come to us then we either praise it or ♥♥♥♥ on it (knowing me I'll probably adore it for an hour and then hiss at the little imperfections and reused assets like the perfectionist I am) in short we wait.
quick edit I hate that steam censors my filthy words Feelsbad

Either you're trying to make a rant just to annoy fans or you're simply unable to see logical reasoning... Reusing assets that work, saves money.

That money which was saved can then be used to make more CONTENT, more content means more NEWER stuff... Plus, it kinda is Shadow of Mordor 2... It's the sequel.. :P

Again, you're either a troll, or someone who really can't see logical reasoning on game developement.

"They should reuse old content so they can save that money to not make more content cause they're just gonna reuse old content so that they can save money to not make more content!"

Truly, you are a genius. Do you make games? You should.

edit: The game is out in 3 months. If you don't think it's worrisome that every dodge, execution, etc in the demo presentation (that will be the final game) was a reused animation from a widely successful 3 year old game, then you're either naive on a level I didn't think was possible, or your standards are so low that you should stop giving your opinion because it's that of a worthless sycophant who contributes nothing to the progress of video games.

Added Dialogue, new voice acting, OST was epic before no need to change it....

It is the first game copied and pasted with more stuff.... so what?

I completely agree OP. What the dev's should have done is recorded a different animation for fast bipedal transportation. Like Skipping.

And instead of the preexisting parry animations, which look very much like actual parrying moves , Talion should have learned to shoot lasers out of his eyes to destroy incoming objects.

That way they wouldn't need to reuse any PERFECTLY FINE AND ACCURATE ANIMATIONS
