Is there a way to delete my save and start a new game? Or must I let the current family die out first?

You have 3 save slots. You can delete a savegame by rightclicking on it.

Yeah the game is not very intuitive on stuff like a plain simple Delete button - I had to figure that one out myself after getting tired of each family I created and dying or game crashing to point of unplayability

Ah, gotcha. Thank you for the info. And yeah, I dig the game so far, but do wish they were a bit more informative on the controls.
