In that situation your only hope would be to get a recruit visit the shelter and accept them. Then you get them to go on clean up duty :D
If that is the case, then the game should wait to check alive/dead status until after the character has cleared the doorway. In short, the game should be coded so that it is impossible for a character to die in the doorway.
This should not create any exploits where a player keeps a "dead" character alive indefinitely, either, because as far as I know there is no way to force a character to stand in the doorway. If by some miracle a player did manage to accomplish it, the character would eventually wander out anyway (and immeidatley die).
I noticed that by day 52 you only had built one extra water storage unit. And that you are using fairly inefficient toilet and shower.
That seriously limits the range at which you can explore. Were you able to find your first town with the limited amount of water you had? (they can be found in clearings i.e. not mountains, not forest, within about 50 water units of your starting location) It’s a good idea to find a good sized town before the 2nd or 3rd week, as that’s when the game starts to get harder, black rain, more aggressive people ect.
Also usually in exploring a town you’ll find anywhere from two to five masks. Often you’ll find them in florist shops.
Also I noticed that you upgraded your power generator and painted your walls. Early on storage space is at a premium and bringing back cans of paint usually isn’t worth it till you are more established.
As for the generator, the starting out level is usually fine until you get much further in the game, and even then I wouldn’t bother to upgrade it with anything except ‘efficiency’ unless you have the resources to spare.
I hope that those tips help.
Post Script: I completely agree, plastic seems to be very rare, It would be nice if more of it was found in factories, or if there was a specific location that specialized in that loot, such as a recycling center in the major cities.
