Building a 3rd level?

Hi, I cant seem to build a 3rd level onto my base. When I place a room on the 3rd level it wont let me place a ladder to it, and cancels the building of that room. Has anyone had luck building past 2 levels down?

well i just watched a video of someone building 3 levels down... so i guess my base is bugged?

Either that, or you need to give the ladder more free space. It needs more space than you would think, as the dog/cat flap is not visible yet before you placed the ladder.

The game allows for a total of 4 levels at the moment.

man, I'm having the same issue and it is really annoying.

yes. the first time you try to build in the corner of the 3rd level, it glitches.
try another area. eventually you find a spot where it works.
ive got a completed 4th level. so it does work.

Hi Nauds3000,


We're already looking into a few issues with constructing new rooms.
If you're not able to build down to the third level at any position in your shelter, please let me know as this could be another bug.
Also, Idefix--211 is right, the ladder does need more space than it looks like it would. Please try and clear some space before constructing a room and ladder.

I can't build a 4th floor, even though I've already had quite some space cleared out for the ladder..

I have the room on the 2nd floor where the ladders goes between 1 and 2, and I tried to build a 3rd floor room under it. The room on the 2nd floor is now empty and still not able to build.

did you build a ladder 1st?
and i dont believe you can build a ladder in a space directly under another ladder.
