But I suggest to go out and loot some food, it's easyer
I agree!!
The game was also made for consoles with console controllers, can't have them micromanaging too much! "Now i gotta choose between cooking it right now or putting it in the freezer? GAH!!!, why can't they just put it in the freezer automatically then I can cook it whenever i want?!" hehe
*I do think the first cooking thing that looks like a barrel top barbeque should require wood or charcoal to burn (there are matches in the game but I don't see any use for them yet). I think the game was released a little early because of console obligations. If meat can spoil in an uncooled freezer, it should also be fresh for a little while on a butchers slab or something.
IMO instead of bigger traps gaining more meat, they should be restricted to animal sizes and butchering tools should yield you more meat instead (ex: make that saw good for something besides wood). That way you could use fresh cut meat off the table, not using/cleaning it right away would increase dirty levels
