Because of this some early mistakes like forcing a control scheme based on autodetect became evident and were avoided. Sensibly it became the norm to default to mouse control and then allow the user to decide on the preferred scheme through the options control panel.
This dev seems to have missed all that.
I use a Razor programmable gamepad in place of a keyboard for gaming. Due to some shoulder issues it is difficult and painful for me to sit at a desk and use a keyboard in a normal manner. This game detects this as being a xbox style controller and therefor locks out mouse control which of course means no control.
No ideas why the devs would set things up like this to begin with but they have pretty much ignored the issue when it has been raised multiple times.
Default mouse control is the standard becuase pretty much 100% of us have that. Locking people out based on a poorly coded auto-detect functions is a bad idea all the time.
I second this, or this is one of few games the OrbWeaver of mine cause issues with simply because devs are wiser than to use auto-detect features in the first place.
Luckly I can refund the title until the issue is solved but I hope they do resolve it since I like the game.
until then I'm out.
Had invisible mouse bug too (running win 10 Pro here) until I unplugged my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro JOYSTICK which I currently only but frequently use for Star Citizen game.
Seems like the game is unable to distuinguish between gamepads and joysticks.
