How to make more storage?

So I'm in day 2 and I need more storage space, I can't craft boxes or something like that, and I can't upgrade the box...

btw, I dont have air in the shelter, what happened? the oxygen machine thingi is 100% but everyone keeps dieing, what di I do?

if you havent upgraded your airfilter, the shelter cant handle more than 4 ppl inside of it (more than 4 without upgraded airfilter --> air drains until ypur guys die), so if you have more than 4 dudes, upgrade that filter

you have to send 2 of your folks out on an expedition for supplies.
RIGHT-CLICK on the radio and select CREATE EXPEDITION.
select your 2 people, choose where you want to go(no more than 6 to start) and your transportation if you have a horse.
then EQUIP your folks with gas masks and pipes and send them on their way.
dont pick up tvs, computers, bottles, jars, rags, mannequin parts or scrap heaps. pick up most everything else.

you let too many people into the shelter before you upgraded your air compressor.
