Any tips for Stasis?
Just tried out Stasis, I really really like the new look of the shelter and the advanced suit mechanics.

So far, I make sure to keep both planters fully operational and tend to the needs of my survivors and send them out to the 3 locations near the shelter.

Any tips on what to build first? There arent many options available, starting resources are few, and since you dont need water to go out and explore, the water butt with 100 capacity looks good enough to me.

Apparently you need to gather experience to be able to upgrade your suits, so should I engage every enemy encounter instead of running away? I was thinking about prioritizing resources to build an advanced recycler and then a punching bag to increase combat stats.

I always focus on what causes game overs and how to prevent them. In Stasis there is one additional way to lose: power core gets busted Move all your stuff to bottom two floors above core. Have one person on guard without automation at the core. Worms are harmless even if they attack other stuff, which does nothing. Have someome take over before letting that person do something else.

Clear zombies above shelter as they come, they prevent expedition party from returning if left there. Make sure BOTH shelter survivors are on the surface before engaging or else you fight alone. There are no raids in Stasis.

For stats, beat up every zombie, search everywhere, loot everything. I went for duration first, then storage, speed and resistance, in this order. Shelter members can also wear suits to benefit from Resistance, but remember that this uses duration. While you can wear it indefinitely, those suits require charging before going on expeditions. Your choice to let two specific survivors to go or alternate parties. The woman has Courageous trait, she should be a priority pick for going out.

Rock it, don't gun it. Something in your shelter has lots of this...

Item unlockers are must-haves. Your hacking terminal is a must. Forgot if you can build lockpick, do so if you can.

Deconstruct excess stuff you don't need, if required, for extra materials. Leave Lights on to increase repair speed, the power core can handle any power load forever.

Avoid biohazards on the map, but even then the sphere will move around as time passes. This sphere simply forces you into battles against increase numbers at a high frequency. Great for farming kills but you won't be able to handle three early game.

As you already mentioned, keep planting for food. You will eventually have surpluses but keep planting them anyway.

Toss junk like broken weapons and scrap metals into fabricator to make materials you need. Plan ahead as fabbing takes time, especially with larger durations. Recommend to make one at a time. Recycling plant is useful for getting more materials out of junk but remember that recycling also takes time. The zombies all drop Burnt Cloth, which can be recycled into two Nylon a piece.

Lastly, keep an eye on time. Be ready to leave by Day 75. The game doesn't end there if you didn't do it on time, but it gets MUCH MUCH harder to do anything as you begin to be overwhelmed by triple zombie and worm waves. On my slackest plays, I was done at around 61 and my on my fastest, 48.

You need to build the rocket parts and crafting them takes some time. You have to also add them to your rocket. Right click the rocket to do so, then right click to leave once ready.

Your final game score... Well, I won't spoil you yet. Just follow what I mentioned above and you can probably figure things out. For example, some of the "useless" things in the shelter that cannot be rebuilt are there for some reasons...

Of course, if you are desperate for answers, I will share them here, no problems!

Remember to make savegame backups! A gameover = Stasis savegame deleted and so will winning Stasis.

Thanks for the great info. Is it worth exploring the whole map? Are there specific locations that yield valuable parts? I was thinking scrapyard but unlike the RV in regular mode you get to construct the rocket parts in the shelter, so you mostly need resources, but you still need specific items. Do you come across these at random or in special buildings?

Also, since the timer is limited, are smaller runs better than larger loops?

And there's a cryogenic storage bank with 0/9 slots. In the beginning i heard the prof say something about it requiring seeds yielded from the planter but I dont see where to craft anything? The workbench doesnt have any options

Rocket parts are all in laboratories.

Dont worry about the time, as long as you are on top of sending out parties regularly and bringing back stuff, you should be fine.

You get seeds from harvesting your planters at the fully grown stage. Use fertilizer at the start for a better yield. Fertilizers are made with worm husks on your lab.

Your end goal is to build the rocket parts and escape asap, along with having specific items that are needed for score in your storage (dont worry about taking them with you, they are automatically accounted for for scoring). Getting better melee weapons along the way is also a good idea. Making your life in the shelter easier is not the main objective.
