How long does food poisoning last?

One of the starter kids got food poisoning (though idk how, was only eating the basic food rations). He's been sick and vomiting for a couple days now. How long does this last? Do I have to cure it before it goes away or will it pass on its own?

Use homemade anti-emetics (requires Laboratory) or sleep in a Luxury Bunk Bed and immediately wake up.

Make them shower before eating, unclean causes food poisoning. also stove helps theme at less because each ration is worth more.
