I really dont recommend firearms for any encounters with more than one enemy. Keep the firearms for trading though.
Basically, in shelter defence battles, use a pistol for best chances of winning if you cant kill the enemy with melee in one turn, since all shelter battles are 1v1. For parties sent out, the maximum chances of winning occur when you have up to 2 enemies.
Anything more should be done with 2x grenades for guaranteed victory.
Also, remember that firearms consume ammo. I rather get two sledgehammers with max str and dex for fights with 2 enemies and throw nades for 3 and above, or one guy with M16.
Didnt know about the M16 being able to kill more then one person so thats usefull and yep Then i am only gonna use pistols for my children since both adult normaly always 1 shot enemys
Pistol/shotgun/rifle has poor/moderate/good accuracy, does a minimum of 20/60/80 damage per shot if it hits and has 12/6/3 ammo per magazine and you only get one magazine per survivor per battle. Look at the stats and you will know why I don't suggest firearms for large fights; you just wont be able to kill everyone on your first turn.
This game relies heavily on you being able to win on your first turn. Risk death if you cant do this.
M16 has 30 ammo and does the same thing as rifle. With 30 rounds and good accuracy, you can almost always beat any fights on one single survivor's turn.
or well Before i didnt have any idea now i understand them
SO thanks
Will ask here instead of starting a new thread.
The str requirement, does this mean you need that str to shoot the gun or only for its mele action part?
Cause you can equip any item even with 0 str it seems.
I tried using a pistol with a char that had 1 str, and they missed a single shot 3 turns a row, and even missed on the 4th turn when i said whole clip.
But then the 2nd char, had 6 str, which is the min need, and that char had the same hit scores to. So im not sure.
Also, is an ammo in your inventory bag, as 1 item count = 1 bullet? or 1 item count = 1 clip?
You can equip ANY weapon in the game with 1 STR, but you need to meet the requirements to deal the stated melee damage.
Firearms accuracies are far lower than their stated values as far as I have experienced.
1 ammo = 1 ammo. The second party member gets priority for the ammo if both members use the same firearm and you have insufficient ammo for both.
Just wanna add that they added a reload option during the battle soemtime after this thread was made, which will cost a turn, so you can bring more ammo to spam if you want.
