Tips for dealing with the protection racket?

It all started when thugs started asking for 10 cans of food around several days, but im starting to get tired of them. I've sent 2 guys with each a shotgun, the best possible armor and a gas mask, one dead, one subdue'd, while i only killed 2 of 3. What is the best strategy for dealing with theses ♥♥♥♥♥?

That's really an easy quest. All you need is 2 grenades found in mines or 2 tier 3 explosives (the strongest you can craft).

Goto the bank and bloew those f****rs to pieces.

Careful applications of high explosives can solve any problem you find.

Two pipebombs and no mor protection racket. They couldnt protect themselves.

I just kept refusing food and repaired my filters that they damaged. It has been quite a while since they last came though. Dunno, maybe they got the hint.

They can disappear if you ignore them. They disappeared for me after ignoring them 7 times.

You said they disappear if some faction territory takes them over? Or is that not the only case?

Supposedly that was my case. Im still investigating it.
