WHY WILL NO ONE REPLY TO A HORSE SADDLE DISCUSSION?!

My horse, he is in pain from bare-backing all these dirty survivors.

My survivors, they suffer from aching backs as well due to hauling extra heavy loads.

YOU could help these poor people and their beloved pet. All it takes is a simply reply.

Also, if there is some sort of glitch right now stopping people from equipping the saddle that would be useful information as well.

I've seen lots of threads where people see the horse as the most useful pet so they must have used it.

However, these threads have no mention of how to go about putting a saddle on them. That's why I'm asking now.

I didn't say it's not fun. I enjoy it thoroughly. I'm actually doing quite well right now with a horse/no saddle. I always have plenty of food and water. I just need to get it equipped so my supply runs will be more productive!

i cant allow myself to use the horse because its absolutely absurd that its 100% safe up on the surface with soo many people/raiders walking past it

/why bother breaking into a shelter and getting killed when you can simply break into a cheap wooden stable and have an easy meal or free horse?

/if they added anti-horse raids where people try to break in and you must send someone to the surface to attack them before they break in, then i would try the horse (but im sure id be displeased with how rarely they would try and thus still not use the horse)

In a realistic sense you are very right. Unless if you think of it as a carnivorus apocolypse horse that is impervius to rads.. then it makes sense ;p

To equip the saddle: create a saddle, then click on the horse in his little stable and select equip saddle. It is done one time, prior to preparing for an expedition and NOT done through the normal expedition equipment menus.

The horse is easily the best pet, however I understand from a roleplay perspective people wouldn't choose it. For hardcore games, the cat is the only way to go.

It doesn't give me an option to equip it though. Just medicate/feed. Would it show the horse wearing it if it was equipped?

Once you create it, you have a new option if you click the horse in its stable, to equip the saddle. I believe that it shows up graphically on the horse, so you should see it.

It really isn't complicated so I have to imagine that you have experienced some form of bug? It sounds like you've tried everything.

Yeah I'm on day 114 with this run with the horse and I built the saddle in like the 10-20 day region. Everytime I click to feed it I don't get an option to equip it so it must be a bug. I'm wondering if it's just this run or if I'll have to redownload the game...

Either way I'm actually still doing pretty good without it. Even without the saddle the horse is great for covering long distance and if you have two large rucksacks there is ample space. Just woulda been cool to have that 12 slot boost.
