Crashing on Windows 10

Just upgraded to Windows 10 & now the game crashes when I try to launch, it's the only game in my library that does this anyone know what is going on?

So I own the disk version and it does the same thing I can only guess you need to disable windows defender and we need wing 32 or windows thinks it's a virus and doesn't tell us.

And mine is white screen for 1.1 seconds then it crashes and no I'm talking about 1.1 milliseconds

Run in compatibility mode for: Windows Vista
Run in 640x480 Res
Disable display scaling

yes set it to 640x480 compatibility mode and it'll run. otherwise, nope. and for some reason the Bejeweled Twist Demo here will work without having to do that.

You can do this by right clicking on the game in your steam library & clicking on "browse local files" and then right click on the application & going into properties.

alternatively, you can download a patched version off of github. (https://github.com/cheez3d/popcap-patches) This will also fix issues such as the resolution options & the 3D acceleration toggle.

I'd like to say to open this convo back up. It doesn't work on Windows 11 either. I've been taking interest into playing bejeweled games again and it just does not work

ran on my 10 yr old pc running win 10
still runs on my new pc running win 11.

see if game created the folder where your scores are kept:
c:\programdata\steam\bejeweledtwist\users

check window event viewer AND windows reliability history. an error msg would help.

run the game from the game folder .exe and NOT from your steam library or an icon. sometimes an error msg appears (like missing library). this is an old game (2008). perhaps you do not have the old libraries needed to run it.

I confirm. This game does not work on Win 10 22H2 x 64. On Win 7 Ultimate x64 bit everything worked fine. It has the latest Nvidia drivers.

This game was working just fine. I was able to play Bejeweled Twist without no problems whatsoever. Now everytime I try to play, it crashes out on me. Something is going on here and needs to be fixed

There are fixes where you have to download a cracked version of the app I have downloaded that and 3D acceleration works fine. One of the other posts in here mentions that. I know with windows 10 & 11 compatibility with older apps and games is like a hit or miss with it running, it also has something to do with the graphics card detection process.
As far as I know, the developers no longer support the game due to it's age. It was originally made for windows XP back in the day.
