In Space Run Galaxy, you'll be able to create custom contracts for your fellow players (setting the destination, cargo and reward). This lets you hire others to ship around goods when your shipping 'empire' has grown particularly large!
You can also trade goods with other players on the black market, specifying your own prices. If you see a rare piece of cargo going for cheap in one system, you could go on and sell it for a higher price elsewhere. Players who can spot a bargain are heavily rewarded in this regard ;)
No concurrent multiplayer runs as of now.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
Cheers.
Thank you for the reply. I do have a simple question. What made you decide against runs where players could travel together on the same run as allies or runs where players attempt to wipe each other out as they compete to complete the run?
The moment I heard about this being multiplayer, that is all I could think of, however the way you are describing it now is single player side by side in the same universe, like so many other games that never seem to live long. Such as the Epic Quest for Loot & Steam Bandits Outpost.
I enjoyed Space Run very much and still interested in the sequel. I hope you would consider allowing more interaction between players than side by side single player. The runs are where the gameplay is at. Not allowing multiplayer in the runs seems like a missed opportunity to me.
I look forward to hearing from you about how you came to your current idea of how you want multiplayer to work.
jkwong01 internet everyone has it but is not forced upon so why ask if is internet is a must no matter where i am i alwas have internet connection thanks to my phone
Do you know how many online only games I miss right now because they were taken offline?
A lot.
Online is ok if there's a good reason for it but it is just nice to know before hand.
What I do hope is there would be more interaction for players to do, a community objective or campaign/goals that players can do to achieve and some sort of work together.
Examples :
1) System beset by plague and in dire need of medical resources. Space Runners can work to transport medicinal supplies (need to hit a set target). Routes of course plagued by NPC pirates. If players meet objective, they get a reward (items/ money/ titles/ badges)
2) 2 Systems at war. Player space runners pledge to 2 different factions according to choice. Players must conduct space runs to supply(and profit :)) the faction they pladged to support. The winning faction (whatever may be the victory conditions) means players supporting it receiving a reward.
3) Galactic alien/zombie/robot invasion. Space Runners conduct supply runs to frontlines or else lucrative systems might be lost = loss of profits.
4) Exploratory Expedition. A science organisation hiring player spacerunner to carry sensitive survey equipment to map out unknown systems/sectors in an expedition campaign. Players involved need to map out/gather data according to set objective and receive rewards etc etc. Possibly gain new technology too.
etc etc
You see, there are many ways to make the community feel involved, even without being able to play with each other (YET!). It will buy the dev some time till they can work on concurrent multiplayer.
Anyways, I really hope to hear what are the future plans after launch. The dev already has my money for this game.
