Just because you as a parent think it maybe difficult.Your child might find a solution with ease.
Two year olds pick up an ipad or tablet these days and teach their parents how to play games in the most difficult format to play them in.
I'm a PC guy but adapted to use controllers for several games over the years.
I originally bought this game for androind and couldn't do anything with it after the first level.Now with controller support im having fun.I'm 43.
If a 6 year old can beat it on an ipad I think the difficulty level should not be an issue.
Hardcore mode will unlock after the game is completed once. Hardcore is completely optional and requires you to complete the game on the same difficulty, except without dying and no save points. That's what makes it Hardcore ;)
