Has anybody tried playing with a DS4 controller?
I was just about ready to buy a HOTAS joystick referred to me by a few buddies..Generally, I'd like to buy one anyway because I plan on playing Elite: Dangerous when I finish building my gaming PC. Anyway, I decided "what the hell", and plugged in a PS4 controller. Then, I started up the version of the game which requires a joystick, and..Well, it DOES work..

I still have to navigate menus via the mouse and keyboard, but when it comes down to gameplay, I can use the analog stick to move my ship around, click R2 for full throttle, and square for firing. I need to mess around with the settings, though..I still need to press "T" to lock onto targets.

Anyway, I thought this would be helpful to people. It looks like most of the discussions are suggesting that you buy a traditional joystick setup..Which I still intend on doing for that extra nostalgia factor. God, I miss the days of arcade gaming...

CH still sells the classic F-16 stick, now with USB. Feels just like the old ones did.
