Game crashes my brand new macbook pro

I recently got a macbook pro with an m3 pro chip and the game basically loads to a white screen, and crashes my computer with the game's sound running in the backgroun. I can't exit the game, or do anything. steam overlay doesn't work, so the game is unplayable at the moment. Anyone have any ideas?
