Emperor's Hammer is a gaming community that was formed in the 90s (yes that far back), for people who enjoy star wars and other games. Mainly the xwing-series games as the title suggests (but we also play EABF 1 and 2, Star Conflict and even more games such as Elite Dangerous, though the latter not formally part of our competitions).

In light of the upcoming Squadrons (but even if you do not plan to buy Squadrons), we are encouraging more people to join us! Be warned, we are IMPERIALS, set in the time after the events of Endor. So It is the time of the New Republic, and we are one of the fighting fragments of the Imperial Navy.

It's such a shame Squadrons looks like it's gonna be a console game version of the old Star Wars flight sims we loved. The gameplay being shown on twitch looks pretty lacklustre, and the campaign is basically non-existent. I'll stick to TIE fighter and randomly playing SC or ED when they have their yearly updates which add three dust particles.

Having tried both games now its clear Tie Fighter is just so much better than Squadrons!

Come and check out the Emperor's Hammer. Playing Starwars Games with others is a lot more fun. In the case of the Emperor's Hammer, there is an incredible community behind it all established all the way back in 1996.

Man this game was the s*** back in the day. Props to you old nerds and greybeards lol - I remember seeing a computer running this at a high school fair in the 90s (it was a weird one at night can't even remember why we went), I still had my snes and had no idea PCs could run game like this... it was then I knew I had to hound my mum day and night for a computer.

I was the opposite - as a kid I didn't even know consoles existed (outside of the NES) for a long time, but had a Commodore 64 (my dad liked to write code) and then a PC that ran Windows 95 - where I was first introduced to 'modern' (at the time) PC gaming through this game. I wouldn't get a console until the Nintendo 64 (with Super Smash Bros. being my first console game), but even to this day TIE Fighter is one of my favorite games.
