Anyone else having issues with Left/Right trigger buttons???
Often I will be holding down the thrust (Right Trigger) or afterburner (Left Trigger) or both and one, or both will just cut out and stop working. Sometimes releasing the trigger(s) and pressing again works, but sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I find myself furiously pressing the trigger buttons as I lose speed and they just aren't working. Always within a few seconds they kick in and start working again, but that is enough to lose spots on the leaderboard or straight up die in the lander missions.

I was using DS4Windows to play with my PS4 controller. I was convinced it must be an issue on my end but I tried switching from bluetooth to wired, switching USB ports, tried switching PS4 controllers, nothing seemed to work.

I tried switching to my crappy logictech F310 gamepad and the right trigger started working for thrust, no cutting out (YES!), however for some reason the left trigger seems to be bound to brake instead of afterburner. Sigh.

Tried my Logitech Extreme3D Pro Joystick and it doesn't seem to be supported at all.

I tried dusting off an old Xbox 360 controller but I couldn't get it working with any game, probably just an old controller or windows 10 hates me. It recognizes an XBOX controller is plugged in, but doesn't seem to work in any games.

I guess I could start saving for a steam controller. In the meantime I figured I would see if anyone else is having issues with L/R triggers or if perhaps this is a known bug?

I'm so close to being real addicted to this game so hopefully I can get this figured out. Already got a few leaderboard spots dispite losing throttle here and there due to this. I'll surely be writing a glowing review once this is resolved, everything else about this game so far is top notch, enjoying it a lot!

PS - also, another minor bug I noticed, at times the "start" button is un-responsive as well, I will want to pause and quit in order to restart a level and nothing happens when I press the pause/start button. Usually when this happens I have to force quit the game and restart it, or just finish the level in order to get back to the menu. I also noticed that a couple times when I got a little frustrated with this and was mashing a bunch of buttons on the gamepad at once trying to get the pause menu up and for some reason this resulted in inverting the pitch controls mid-flight, which was really odd.

Hey G-Dub,

That sounds frustrating! I'll be the first to admit that input devices haven't been handled that great, and I'm working on improving how the game recognizes them. If you don't mind a little more testing, download the highly secretive Beta version of FF. It contains an update that's almost ready to release that features an upgraded input device system. (Right Click on Faceted Flight > Properties > Betas, then select "beta --beta testing -" from the dropdown.) Might need to re-start Steam for it to sync up.

I haven't tested w/ a PS4 Controller on the desktop, I'll check it out as soon as I get this update out. For the future, I'm working on re-vamping the control system all together so you can bind whatever controls to whatever buttons you want. Should help issues like you had w/ your Joystick.

Thanks for reporting your issues and thanks for playing!

Fixed. Thanks! It might have been your beta updates, but I also reset some settings to "default" specifically for the problematic trigger buttons in the DS4Windows application I am running to allow for the PS4 controller. Having a blast, thanks for the secret beta key, now I need more competition on the betra leaderboards now :steamhappy:
