I didn't test it myself as I didn't receive such an email, and game is currently down for a long long maintenance, so I can't double check it. Just know that people was talking a few days ago about those mails and claiming the "voucher" codes.
First up, the email doesn't actually give you the voucher code itself, it simply has a link to the SO website telling you to click it to claim your free gift. (Opening the voucher section of the game just gives you a box in which to enter the voucher code, which you don't have yet). So, the only way to get the code is via the website.
When you "Click here to claim your free gift" it takes you to the website where you are told "Unfortunately we were not able to credit your present/gift. The present/gift has been reserved for another player. Please log in to the appropriate account". I was logged in to the WEBSITE account, which I haven't played since I've been playing on Steam. There is no way on the website to log into your Steam account.
Long story short, if you start playing this game on STEAM, Ubi will start sending you email gifts for that account, which can only be claimed by logging in to the web-based game, which, since it's a different account, can't claim them. Does that make sense to, like, anyone??
