No you can not transfer. Says so in the FAQ. (Their excuse is a generic "technical reasons" so we don't actually know why.)

As for which version is better, there are no steam achievements, trading cards, friends list integration or anything, and the steam version is yet another "slim browser" cluttering your PC, so go with web. Unless you care about tracking your "hours played" via steam. That feature works by default.

I started to play in Steam, but there are so many restrictions.
I tried to play on multiple computers multiple games (one game on 1st computer, another game on 2nd computer, but it's impossible) and everywhere is needed the steam engine.

I'm stuck with flash player version 24 extracted from chrome (pepflashplayer.dll). Game's config file (the .json one) manually adjusted to use that DLL file. Tried to upgrade it to version 26 (latest at this moment) but the vew version DLL does not work with the game. I guess my days playing this game are counted. :)

God. why does it have to be so damn complicated? Stupid Google and stupid Chrome for killing Flash so quickly. You don't disable Flash like this, you idiots. Just put it behind a big security warning like any sane developer would. For at least ten years... TEN YEARS you hear me!? So developers like Settlers Online have time to abandon the sinking ship. But no... These idiots blew the [HMS. Shockwave Flash I.] ship up, with a mere two years long timeframe or something. That's too sudden! We didn't have time to leave calmly and in an orderly fashion. You have to sink a ship as big as Flash very, very slowly. The explosion I describe above (2 years) or even a fast, violent sinking (5 years) could damage too much. Sorry. Rant over. Thankfully it doesn't affect me, I use HTML5 for everything. Video playback of my trailers, 2D games with canvas technology, and even 3D games with OpenGL. Flash was so good though. Everyone had it. It was universal. One platform, works the same on all computers. Now I need to ask my players to install a modern browser and keep it up to date. Bah!

"The Settlers Online" does not support play via mobile devices. You will need to use a PC in order to play.
