Basically, it utilizes stock maps and stock characters, and doesn't do much modeling other than some guns.
Checkout the tripwire forums.
The countries are U.S., Japan, Soviet Union, (People's republic of) China, France, Britain, Germany.
It modifies it so that assault rifles are far more common, and gives various buff's to whatever faction you choose, along with guns that your faction is limited too, with guns that are present around 1950 (basically the germans get alot more MkB's, Gewehr 41's, and no bolt action rifles)
The U.S. is modified so that the Garand/Carbine sights are fixed and the Carbine becomes an assault rifle variant with a 30 round clip.
The Japanese get the Japanese Garand.
The Russians get the SKS and AK-47, which i'm waiting for In Country to provide.
The British get the EM-2 assault rifle as their rifle class, along with a Bren and Sten gun.
The French get the MAS-49/56 semi-automatic rifle and the MAT -49 SMG.
The Germans get Gewehr 41's as their standard riflemen rifle, and MkB 42's as their standard assault class.
Any other for the factions are stock RS/RO2 weapons that already exist.
The Chinese are a faction that gets all sorts of weapons, but none of them advanced.
Its just an idea, I'm still figuring out how to begin to start this.
sounds like a very ambitious project. i hope it grows wings!
I made another thread better showing what i'd like to do.
And its not that ambitious since it mostly involves changing game settings for the perks, and selecting a faction after selecting a team during the map start part.

Its not that ambitious because it only involves modeling about 4 guns from scratch, and just changing server settings for specific faction conditions (i.e. when fighting the british, your recon plane doesn't work) and a little bit of game code to allow for selecting a faction before starting a match.
Modding with small teams has to be done with baby-steps.
For the chinese model I will just graft the Japanese faces onto the Russian uniforms, French, take the U.S. army model and make the uniform gray, and for the british, take the U.S. soldier and put a brogie helmet instead of an M1 helmet on it.
The point here is to recycle as much content as possible to save development time, while providing a vastly different experience.
Just go to a full bot server, squint your eyes and pretend ;)
