Any one else hate the M1 garand?

I love almost every gun in RO2, but when it comes to the garand i feel like its just useless. The sights are very hard to see through and I usually end up unloading my mag at someone standing 5 feet away and missing every shot. My aim with other guns is just fine. Alot of people complain that the japanese team is underpowered because their rifleman have bolt actions, but I find I do alot better with an ariska then the M1 garand (maybe because I got used to using bolt actions in HOS before RS was released?).

So how do you feel about the M1 garand? Am I doing it wrong?

No, you're not the only one who hates the Garand sights. Although I have gotten used to it, I still don't like how they obstruct my view.w

My biggest issue, by far, with the Garand is when I move to the right of left very quickly while tracking a target, shoot at the metal post thingy only to realize it is the left or right thingy and not the middle one. Omg I hate those left and right post thingies (I have no idea what those are called). Why cant it just have one going up the middle like a normal gun?

Yeah, there is far too much "stuff" in too small of a window to effectively track and aim at targets through that thick circle they call a sight

The circle doesn't bother me, actually. Its just the three pronged front sight. They make me want to take out a file and cut the stupid things off.

I don't mind the Garand... I hate the M1 Carbine, because it hits like a marshmallow shooter... The Garand at least lays waste to what you aim and hit.


I am not the US that often though as folks tend to stack the US in RS like they tend to stack the Germans in HOS...

I refuse to team stack.

Oh yeah... don't look through the reticle... look around it to track and rough aim.

Lol yeah I do this sometimes but its not ideal for long range aiming.

I like the Garand, better than the Carbine in pretty much every aspect.

I really like the sites on the M1 in this game. I like in BIA Hell's Highway. Just be glad its not as tiny as they are in Battleground Europe.

really you aren't using it right then if you rush of course you will die if you stay back the sights are fine

I think it sucks not because of the sights, but it runs out of ammo so fast.

What kind of a reason is that? The real life M1 Garand has 8 rounds so that's how it is in game. Why would they change that?

I also hate the M1 Garand because of the sights and the recoil. The M1 Garand in RS, kicks too much. It's like you are 8 years old or something. Whenever I'm forced to use a rifle, I choose the Springfield.

Hello there

Im odd.

I love both the Garand and the Carbine.

The sight picture isnt great but once I have a target I can "spray and pray"
They dont have great penetration but for me they work just fine.

I did loathe The M1 at first though.
