But welcome, glad you like the game. just ignore the elitists and don't let them ruin your game. Reading some guides and watching some youtube videos is probably the best way to learn the classes, but sticking with Rifleman is best for new players.
Now while its true the Americans have more firepower and thats historically accurate, the Japanese of course have some advantages also, being banzaicharges, booby traps and MG bunkers.
And yes, Classic is alot harder, there is no zoom and you die from 1 bullet from any weapon, regardless where you get hit.
The BAR is a powerhouse and one of my favorite weapons to be honest. Another one is the shotgun (on an engineer). Really decent realistic range and well packs a punch.
How do you use your grenades as mines?
And yea, I will stick with Rifleman for a while. Still having trouble finding my way at times. If I reload while having a half empty mag, will it go half-empty in my inventory like it does in Arma, or will it merge with my 'ammo pool'?
As for grenades, look down to the ground while on a soft surface like dirt and RMG. You then bury the grenade, only possible as a Japanese player with Japanese grenades. You can have two buried at any time, bury more and the first one disappears. Both explosions and flamethrowers detonate them though.
Another 'bug' about flamethrowers is that they melt bullets it seems... So don't take one head on.
Also you can press T to get the tactical menu up, and there it will show how many grenades you have buried, so you know if any have gotten destroyed. Really usefull on say Iwo Jima to put them in narrow places, you will get alot of kills that way :P
And, where does the bullet go on the japanese sniper scope? I can't hit anything with it.
