Nambu type 100 "improved" sights
I closing in on lvl 50 with the type 100, but I will prolly never get to use the bayonet since it keeps the same "improved" sights of lvl 25... Do people actually like the upgrade? Because I find myself going back to lvl 1 type 100 because the sights obscure a lot less of your screen... I like the recoil and slower rate of fire but the sights are terrible :(

agree, its not an improvement at all in my opinion
also staying with the standard ironsight.

.. those ♥♥♥♥ with thier iron sights, play MG gunner and everyone can flank you from the right :D

Everyone prefers level 1 type 100. Lower fire rate is a terrible upgrade and the new sight is ♥♥♥♥.

Here's something TWI could do; Enlarge the sighthole, preferably remove it. After that, either buff the damage of increase the fire rate. Though if they increased fire rate, i dont think it would need the damage buff.

Just making the sighthole thinner or less obstructing would be enough or only have it flip up after zeroing your sights in past 100m. I don't think they should alter the damage and IMO I like having the option of more controlled slower fire or faster rate of fire, but atm there's no reason to choose other stuff since your vision gets obstructed too much.

I'm quite sure it's actually a historic alteration... they tried to improve the Type 100 during the war, lower fire rate to improve accuracy and probably to save on ammo too - but they also ended up using cheap-grade metals as raw materials dried up. Late Type 99 rifles regularly blew barrels and grenades often had dodgy fuses that would blow as soon as primed.

But yeah, totally understand how it doesn't exactly seem to "reward" player as such... I never really use the Nambu 100 unless defending a bunker. If attacking, I'll select a rifle (or if server allows, select a tommy gun instead of Nambu).

The slower ROF from the recoil compensator combined with the ability to adjust the zeroing of the improved sights allow you to pretty much snipe with the Nambu. The L1 is better for raw laying of bullets down at close range, but if you have precision then L2&3 is better. Alt-fire to toggle the sight down would be nice, though.

I love the lower rate of fire. With that the weapon has pretty much no active recoil. This makes the gun awesome on all ranges. With a bit of practice hits on 200m or longer are no big deal and in especially hipshooting is easier with the lower rate of fire.

I agree on the ironsight, its not really improved and I think most people would like to have the old sight and the rate of fire upgrade.

Uhm yes... with your full ammo load on a afker that is standing tall maybe.
Dont get me wrong, i dont want to attack you but this is nonsense for the common player.

Few to some fail shooting prone with a rifle at 200m, but with a SMG it is possible despite the horrible sway etc.
Do it in a combatsituation, out of movement, crouching on a moving or minimal signature prone enemy.

I dont say it is impossible but its not the role the T100 was designed for.
Its also possible to get out a stat MG with a shotgun at 80m what is just silly and a different story.
The T100 is a big part of axis close combat capability.
So why waste it and letting riflemen cleaning caps? Because u can?

The upgrades move the operation area of the gun a bit further, while cutting a bit from the closestcombat.
The "impro sights" are not nice but so-so ok if you center the enemy at the screen before you go into ironsights. In my opinion the "reduced recoil" is just lethal in close areas, it seems you get one bullet more out of a pistol in a T100 3 shot sequence;)
In my opinion the L1 T100 is good for assault while SLs that are not 1st at all caps do better with the L3.

They should keep the historical correctness (if there is any). A swiss knife T100 would just suck.

regards

Nice write up Sergej I only have a problem with your description of the sights. It's not that it's a problem that much to find your target in your sights... It's that when you have someone in your sights the world around it is gone... if there's multiple threats (which should be a-okay since you have a fully automatic weapon) you can only see one... and that's even before you start shooting, because when you start shooting the muzzleflash and shakyness destroy any vision you had left. Your combat awareness takes too much of a beating.

Yes Pin0 thats the real challenge, me just because of this set a extra "hold for ironsights" key (dont remember the exact name).
So i can keep a bit of overview and can halfway fast switch targets, if the enemy sleeps a bit additional with proper cover and movement it works fine;)
Me still dont likes the "impro sights" but i can deal with them.
In the other way its cool that ppl that stick in sights for all the time gets teached a hard lesson \o/
Many guns have "HUD overload" TWI wont change it so you have to find a way to deal with it.

Its still a SMG not some kind of assault rifle so Lv1 T100 FTW

Well I have played RS for quite some time now. However if you get the weapon to lvl 25 you should be able to pull this off.

Good example is as a commander on axis on the airfield its not that hard to shoot and hit people from the HQ that rush into the A or B cap.
Fanda Nyamo Jan 11, 2014 @ 11:03am
I prefer my sights nice and clean. So even though I use Tommygun on both sides, that is one of my problems with it, when i need to zero them. It's also one of my problems with Rising storm. That is one of the reasons why I don't like the Type 99 rifle as much as the 38 (although I must say 99 kicks arse). I can guarantee though, that I would probably use the Type 100 upgrades more, if i t didn't have that sight. I can't see anything through it, and it makes it hard to track people are ranges.
