THIS GAME ALMOST KILLED MY HARD DRIVE? HELP ME PLS!!!
Please help me. I was playing this game and out of no where it froze like how this guy describes it http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3000387 to make matters worst when I rebooted my PC my 1TB HARD DRIVE was no longer recognized by my BIOS... I was so lucky that it was brought back to life... I was forced to disconnect everything and re-connect it and it worked.... I am afraid to run the game again....

SPECS : INTEL DUAL CORE PROCESSOR 2.0GHZ
1TB WD 101EZEX
Nvidia GT 630 2GB DDR3
Windows 7

note: I suspect CIDAEMON.EXE may have also contributed to this anyone knows how to disable it? it's like and indexing service in windows 7 ;_; help me I am defragmenting now and would do a system disk check pls help

this is the only game where I experienced it... no other games in my library did it :c

The game is not killing anything, you have a hardware problem (can simply be your hard drive cable damaged for example, or ths hard disk having errors) or even software problem (mother board driver corruption, and so on). The game is fine and will not kill your computer.

For your question: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=CIDAEMON+disable

BY THE WAY the symptoms are also weird because it crashes on the WELCOME SERVER SCREEN or at the changing map screen

Yes I read it but forget that you posted it.. anyway; it is missing things: how much RAM? is it 32 or 64bit system?

You processor is bellow the minimum requierement by the way.

64bit ram is 4GB VRAM is 2gb ddr3. I think I found the problem... it's WINDOWS INDEXER. when it runs in the background it consumes 100% cpu power and consumes a huge chunk of page file... I remembered playing PAYDAY 2 at 45 fps then all of a sudden it became choppy and laggy... thenI exited the game and found that indexer was running. SAME thing happened to RO2 before my Hard Drive froze and locked up... the game was 40 FPS then it dropped down to 12, I will disable indexer now permanently via msconfig hopefully this stops the crashing.

ALSO I did crashed on the SERVER LIST or joining in the match with 30 fps then all of a sudden it crashed trying to load the welcome server screen for no apparent reason... here is one of the forum link. I'll try to look for a solution http://steamcommunity.com/app/35450/discussions/0/34095131884458710/

That's the point man! there are other older pc's out there running the game! this is why I think my Hard Drive locked up because of that STUPID WINDOWS INDEXER all of a sudden running in the background and when the map changed my CPU couldn't handle the load anymore as well as the HDD being accesses rapidly it locked up.

defrag your hard drive, could just be dieing, also could be your hardware since its on the lower end, maybe over heating.

You could have a software colliding with something, aka 10Bit Driver Booster, that costed me my drive/data, a virus, a system setting that should not be set as it is. My other computer (Currently unused) eats HDD's (they break after 1 week, regardless) have heard it could be power supply, I doubt it. Check your hardware? Power supply, check cables, etc.

I defragmented my drive and did a recent SYSTEM DISK CHECK... windows reported 0 PROBLEMS and 0 bad sectors... S.M.A.R.T. also did not detect anything unlike my other 8 year old 80gb Western Digital it did detect a failing sector. I still think it was the stupid WINDOWS 7 INDEXING service which is tasked for making "SEARCHING FASTER" when it does it eats up 90 - 100% of my CPU power and HDD power and this is evident when playing games. Like Borderlands 2 and Payday 2 when all of a sudden the fps drops down from 40 to 12! right now I am backing up ALL OF MY FILES as an extra precaution. In addition to this I have lowered my resolution from 1366x768 native into 1360x768 -> Reduced textures from high to medium as well as charater models, configured the ini files and disabled radial blurs, high bloom effects, limited MAX LOD BIAS to 1024 instead of 4096 which was the default values and now the game runs more smoother. I will be testing this more.... I also have disabled WINDOWS SEARCH INDEXING from Msconfig via startup services

Still getting crashes... when I play the game it's like 42 fps but everytime I exit a match or join a match IT CRASHES TO DESKTOP for unkown reasons. EDIT: Hang on I turned level of detail to LOW it might be the reason for the crashes

I crash after some 4 or more hours, it drops in FPS, then ultimately crashes to desktop without anything else, its normal tough.
