NO AUDIO FIX (AFTERGLOW HEADSET)
When it comes to the after glow headset, and possibly other headsets, I solved my issue of not having audio with this game, and not having surround sound in other games.

DESKTOP SOLUTION:

1. Turn off your computer.
2. unplug your usb and audio jack hybrid. (because it's probably in the wrong place if you're having this problem)
3. Plug the usb into a usb port closest to your audio / mic / lineout ports.
4. plug the audio jack into the GREEN port for audio. - depending on your motherboard, it could be black. (typically, whether green or black, it's in the middle.)
5. turn on your computer
6. desktop screen arrival
7. wait for drivers from windows to finish their gay ♥♥♥♥.
8. at the bottom right of your screen, right click the white audio icon. open playback devices.
9. right click anywhere in the playback devices section, and show disabled devices.

At this point, your Audio should be defaulted already as speakers, and your afterglow usb headset shouldn't be the default.

10. right click speakers and click test.

11. listen for a ding on the left and right.

IF NO AUDIO, right click afterglow usb headset, enable it, test it. If no audio, your soundcard isn't working. and your problem was way more in depth than this issue.

12a. (if Left and right worked) Your headset is fine, everythings good. Launch red orchestra two and enjoy audio.

12b. READ 12C as well!
If after no dings and you heard the test only after you enabled the afterglow usb headset as your default playback device, then Restart from step 1. MAKE SURE YOUR AUDIO CABLE IS PLUGGED INTO THE SPEAKER PORT, (green or black)

12c. If after no ding and you heard the test only after you enabled the afterglow usb headset as your default play back device, you could also try Disableing afterglow, enabling speakers, test both.

Basically, at the end of it all, we didn't have our ♥♥♥♥ properly plugged in and recognized as that's where we put it.

It still hasn't worked for me. When i set the speakers to default it uses the speakers instead of my headset. My headset works for every game except red orchestra 2 / rising storm.

Never mind, it stopped working again. Everytime i make speakers the default i get no sound on my headset, instead it plays out of the speakers.

I know it's not my audio card because my speakers run perfectly, but nothing works to get the sound to work. I have tried everything I've seen. They were working "fine" (a small glitch in them where they buzzed and made sound louder the "lower" the volume the volume wheel was set to and muted it at the max, so basically reversed the sound wheel) just a day ago. Real sorry for the necro, but I don't have any other headphones atm

No worries m8. I've honestly been experiencing the same strange issues with the reverse sound wheel and etc, so I understand your frustration. Typically, Switching defaults is what works for me. As far as I'm concerned, if you're not able to hear the dings once you would "theoretically" have the "correct" Default, the issues break down into either user error or hardware. It might be that your headset's blown or the volume isn't correct during the correct default.

Try-
Playing with the volume wheels while Testing defaults, Both, Simultaneously to see if you're able to find audio

If there is a problem with our soundcard (which I think is my problem) how do we go about fixing that? I am having this problem with both the NZA trilogy and AVP
