How to reinstall Punkbuster for RO2

Hi people. Can anyone help me get back onto RO2 as being disabled and stuck in the house pretty much all the tiime this game is a lifeline out into the world and chatting to people you get to shoot etc.

I accidently deleated from my programme files punkbuster doh. Obviously now I keep getting kicked from the game. Originally when installing this game I remembered that their was a check tick box when setting the game.

Anyhoo I have tried numerous times to download from the net Punkbuster and reinstall it. I ahve unzipped files etc but when checking the programme files it does not show itself their. Thinking it might be firewall I went into this to allow programme but the punkbuster A and B checktick boxes were already ticked (as is the punbuster checktick box in the options stettings ingame).

Ive restarted computer after downloading punkbuster nowt.

Ive turned of steam (usually always on) and turned it back on again nowt.

Ive unistalled RO2 and then reinstalled from steam nowt.

Ive unistalled R02 and then reinstalled from disc (hoping the punkbuster checktick box thing was thier and I could reisntall punkbuster automatically) nowt.

Just about to have a flid and do a basil fawlty with a branch on my PC.

I love this game and have played it since it came out. Not at all computer savy in anyway. Is there anyone out there who can take pity on me and spare the time to instruct me how to get back on thie game. Please use instructions and idiot can understand.

Did you try deleting your ro2 folder in my documents/my games. It will reset your config though.

And do you mean you deleted your pb folder in ro2 game files or program files,as the ro2 ones are in its own folder and would redownload.
PB has been the bane of loads of RO2 players, I cant imagine how many have left because of this flawed program that keeps real players away but bans only a handful. good luck

It was the latter i.e. I deleted the PB programme from my programme files. I cant understand why, if I redownload it, and unzip the files etc its not showing itself in the programme files? Any ideas gratefully recieved.

No I didnt delete my RO2 folder in documents/mygames as of yet. If I do this, reconfiguring aside, will this reinstall PB or prompt me to do this to get back on gaming.

PunkBuster for RO2 installation file is here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Red Orchestra 2\Binaries\windows\pbsvc_hos.exe

Run it as admin, uninstall, reboot. There you can try to clean windows registry with CCleaner or alike. after that, Run pbsvc_hos.exe again as admin again, install, reboot. Start game and see.

Cheers again Mikeedude you put me on the right track found a thread where Moskeeto went inot more depth as how to find the PB file and fire it up. Did that and it worked.

METHOD 2:
1) Navigate to this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Red Orchestra 2\Binaries\Windows
2) Run pbsvc_hos to reinstall punkbuster.

Cheers for reponding too [HS] you got it spot on while I was searching lol. Man this PC technical stuff is mindblowing (mindnumbing in my case).

Very grateful all now Friday night is complete (will toast u both with a beer tonight).
